What is your opinion about Sen. Rick Santorum new book, It Takes A Family? Do you believe, his book would be a good read for campus Republicans?
I am glad you brought up the so-called "South Park Conservatives." I just finished reading Brian Anderson's newest book, "South Park Conservatives," and had mixed feelings about it.
I am not a South Park Conservative, such as Michelle Malkin. The show, South Park, although "politically correct" is not always a synonym for "conservative."
Mr. Anderson's book is worth the read, especially on CBS bias and the blogosphere, I believed that the book on the show South Park (foul language and the occasional conservative themes) would be a poor recommendation to read for students at my campus.
I, however, acknowledge that conservative students are not wearing suits and red ties, but the same t-shirts and jeans, like most 19-year old kids.
I am a recognized conservative on campus, starting a conservative online publication on campus and a past columnist in the official campus publication. But I am also a "white" student that studies in the Black Studies program.

I have yet to read the book, but paging through it, I do not think that college-age kids are the target audience, moreso people who would be planning to start a family/already have a family.
I would, however, recommend:
The Official Handbook to the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy by Mark W. Smith, and Winning the Future by Newt Gingrich. Both outline major themes the Republican Party has or should have in the near future.
Both of these books stress social conservatism as well as the anti-PCism favored by South Park Conservatives, something that almost seems to be lacking these days. I do not agree with the Religious Right 100%, but I still am a social conservative even if only becuase stable societies help to stablize the poli-economic end of things.
