I'm all for George Allen in 2008. I would make my case, but I don't really have one that wasn't in the September issue of Washingtonian magazine. Very personable, conservative but not in a creepy, religious right kind of way, seems to have backbone unlike a certain President and a certain Senate Majority Leader.

I think the Dems have a good candidate in John Edwards if he chooses to run. It has the national exposure from the last election and his personal life will touch people immensely. He has young kids and his wife's battle with cancer will make him seem himan and in touch with the average American.
As for the GOP they need to come up with a young, strong and down to earth candidate. I really like Jeb Bush but I don't think he will run but I did hear this week that Rudy Guiliani announced he is ready to re-enter politics...Only time will tell........as long as it is not Hilary!!!

I agree that George Allen would make a strong candidate. An all VA ticket isn't out of the realm of possibility. Mark Warner is the type of candidate the Dems would run if they were smart. I could also see Bob Ehrlich doing well for Republicans, setting up a Potomac River clash with Warner.

Yay! A clash on the Potomac! Except I don't think Ehrlich is that popular in Maryland, but maybe I'm not aware because I spend a lot of time in Montgomery County, a county so liberal they tried to ban smoking in private homes.
As far as the RNC ticket, Allen is my man, but I could stand behind Rudy Guiliani for sure. Someone would have to stand behind Bill Frist because his backbone is so weak, he frequently collapses and finds himself being walked over by Democrats.
Warner will NOT be the Dems' candidate in '08. We all know that Hillary is their man...er, woman.

As I said, they would run someone like Warner if they were smart. However, they're not, so Hillary will be on the ticket. From what I hear on talk radio, Ehrlich is popular in MD. Rudy would be a terrible choice. He would run off conservatives. How about an all female ticket with Condi and Hillary?

I think right now, I like Bayh, Warner, and Richardson. They seem to have the most national exposure of the moderates. Biden could be a possibility if he gets a little more name recognition. Also someone to consider is Ed Rendell...he has been mentioned and as im sure you know...has a good personality and meshes well with average people.
