Gravatar It will be a minority either way, but I have a feeling it will swing Harper's way. Within hours of the election being called, the Liberal lead disappeared.
Hopefully, Harper will keep talking positive about the future of Canada, not dwell too much on the Libs' scandal. It worked well for Reagan. I'll send you a link for an artcle by Adam Daifallah about this.

Gravatar People tend to respond better to positive campaigns. He needs to run similarly to Reagan in 1980 (thus the title to this post) or Bush in 2000. A positive conservative outlook on the future. And likening Martin to Jimmy Carter makes me feel good.

Harper needs to demonstrate that the Conservatives are not just the party of the West, but that they have a vision for a bright Canadian future. He should have no problem winning if he is able to campaign effectively. Karl Rove doesn't seem to be busy, maybe we could lend him a hand.

Gravatar But if the Conservatives win, what will become of all of the Americans who fled to Canada after Bush won?

Gravatar Hahahhahaha, Karl Rove advising Harper. For some reason, that makes me laugh. Could it be because...oh, never mind.
Although I do not like Carter (well, as a President, I don't; he's a decent man), I am not sure he is bad in the way Martin is; Carter was misguided; Martin is something far worse. Like Harper said, "It's not enough to say, 'I was only the piano player. I had no idea what was going on upstairs.'"
I guess they'll have to either come home or go to France, Mike.
