Gravatar Because of Ahmadinejad, I may actually rescind my dislike for the "Axis of Evil" language.

Gravatar The case against Iran was and is much strong than the one made against Iraq. Of all the criticisms against Bush's decision, this is it - they're a growing danger with a leader who is off his rocker, yet we're too tied down in Iraq to pose a credible threat to him. That is part of the reason he is so emboldened.

Gravatar Iran, geographically would be very difficult to invade (to my knowledge, it was only done once, by Gengis Khan and the Mongols) and perhaps there is some stigma attached from 1979.

Air strikes seem like they might be something worth considering.

Gravatar It might also help Ahmadinejad's position that the UN refused to condemn a suicide bombing because Algeria wanted language removed that linked the attacks to Syria but never seem to miss a chance to scold Israel. In fact, were this my week to do Hero/ Hack, the UN very well might have won for Hack.

Gravatar Good point, Ryan - Iran's geography makes it almost impossible to invade, and even if we did, any rebuilding/occupation would be almost impossible, as its several times larger than Iraq in area.

I have actually heard of some rumblings that the mullahs are getting scared about Ahmadinejad's rhetoric provoking attacks from the US or Israel (the "Zionist entity" as they so kindly call it). You know things are bad when the clerics are the reasonable ones inside Iran.
