Gravatar What other GOP senator is really vulnerable aside from Santorum?

Gravatar Another that could be lost to Dems is Frist's seat. He is giving it up, as he said he would when he ran (I'm from TN, and I remember no one believe he meant he'd only serve two terms- turns out he was being honest.). Harold Ford, Jr. (D), a Rep. from Memphis, is running for the seat, and he has done well, even in heavily Republican northeast TN (where I grew up). Only recently did one of the Republicans running for the seat start polling a bit ahead of Ford. So, that's another seat that could very likely be lost.

My friends Senate-side say they expect we'll lose the Senate in '06 and that many staffers are making plans accordingly. They didn't give any names, however.

Gravatar Chafee has a primary challenger, DeWine and Burns may have trouble...

Gravatar It should def. be very interesting, though Delaware will be as dull as usual. Carper is still polling in the high 60's to low 70's as far as approval rating, including 50 + % among Republicans. Castle isn't touchable either.

I have heard Delay may have a serious challenger who is polling well. While I think the House will stay in Republican hands, that would be quite a coup for Democrats (kind of like taking out Daschel was for the Republicans, except this will be a Republican in a solidly Red state). Maybe it was just wishful thinking that I saw that though.

Gravatar BTW, what is up with the comment #s always reading "zero"? You always have to click on the comments link just to see if something new has been added...?

Gravatar umm...did you refresh...it said (5) when I clicked on it.

Could be a haloscan thing

Gravatar Hmmmm, I haven't heard or read a thing about Delay's campaign (plenty about indictments but nothing about campaigns). I would be very surprised, although it's not like there isn't a plethora of scandal to use without ever speaking on a single issue (Although I am not sure I would say that would be "negative" campaigning to do so- Delay is probably my least favorite Republican).
Something to think about regarding Delay and other "big names." This doesn't come from me, but from someone I work for. The best representatives are probably the ones you rarely- if ever- read or hear about in the national media because they prefer to work for their constituents, not for themselves, as it should be.
I thought that was an interesting thought (though not really what this post was about, but oh well.).

Gravatar Ryan: I cleared out my browser's cache and then refreshed -- and there the #s were.

Thanks.
