Gravatar I wonder which Harry Whittington would do given a choice.

A) Ride in a car with someone who once crashed a car 40 years ago.

B) Hunt with someone who shot me in the face on saturday.

Hmmmmm?

Gravatar The difference is that Mr. Whittington is still alive. Something that Mary Jo Kopechne cannot say.

Gravatar Ryan,

Does Mary Jo Kopechne mean so much more to you than the over 2,000 Americans and the tens of thousands of Iraqis that Bush and Cheney have had killed?

Why is Ms. Kopechne's life so valuable, when so many other lives are so much useless garbage to you?

Gravatar Wow, Jason, you're feeling particularly vicious today, I see.

One has nothing to do with the other. Further, I don't recall any of the press asking if Kennedy were resigning from the Senate after the Kopechne incident.

Interesting that you think murder is okay so long as a Democrat commits it...

Why do you think Mary Jo Kopechne was not worth at least an attempt to bring justice to Mr. Kennedy? I thought the left supported women's rights. Oh, that's right. They don't if it interferes with their power grab.

Gravatar Jason, Bush and Cheney have not personally killed anyone, and the percentage of casualties to innocent civilians in the Iraq war is probably the lowest of any war ever fought.

Gravatar So Jess,

You would rather risk being shot in the face by Cheney and spend three days in an ICU, than risk driving in a car with someone who crashed a car 40 years ago. Do I have that right?

Would Cheney being drunk change your response? He seems to be covering up something.

Gravatar Yes, you have that right. Again, considering that Kopechne died as a result of said car crash, I'd feel much better hunting with Cheney.

You would say that there's a cover up no matter what, which is fascinating as there was a very real cover up of this minor accident you keep referencing.

Additionally, Kennedy no longer drives himself. I know this firsthand. One might wonder why that is.

Gravatar I meant "minor accident." Forgot the quotation marks.

Gravatar "Man shot and wounded by Vice President Cheney suffers "minor heart attack" after birdshot becomes lodged in his heart, hospital spokesman says." CNN Homepage

Ryan,

Are you going to keep the bumper sticker up if the guy kicks the bucket? It would still be funny, but in a much different way.

Gravatar Jess,

How many "minor" shootings and heart attacks can this 75 year old endure?

Not many I imagine.

Gravatar Hey, Jason, you left this part out:

The doctors said Whittington did not experience symptoms of a heart attack or any other problems. They left the birdshot in place and said he could live a healthy life with it there.

David Blanchard, chief of emergency care, called it "a silent heart attack, an asymptomatic heart attack. He's not had a heart attack in the traditional sense."

Gravatar Actually, a "minor" heart attack, my grandmother had several and lived well beyond them.

When are you going to be a man and admit that Kopechne actually died in a not-so-minor accident?

Oh, never, you're a ball-less liberal.

Gravatar Wow, nothing like celebrating the fact that this guy might be worse off than first thought...because the only thing that matters to the left is sticking it to Cheney.

Gravatar Amusing...
My CPAC pics are up...

Under CPAC 2006, obviously.

Gravatar When are you going to be a man and admit that Kopechne actually died in a not-so-minor accident?

I never denied that Ms. Kopechne died before I was born. I only wonder why you are so obsessed with her death, when so many other deaths barely register.

Wait, I know. Because the point is not to mourn Ms. Kopechne's death it is to “stick it” to Kennedy. How "manly" is that? How many "balls" does that take?

Ryan's original comment was "This says it all." Turns out he was so right.

Gravatar The bumper sticker, I feel, is reflective of the Left's reaction to Cheney and Kennedy. This incident, no matter the condition of either victim, as Jason has so wonderfully demonstrated, will be harped and played on by the Left until Mr. Cheney passes away, while Senator Kennedy is givwen free reign by the Senate.

No wonder why I never forget which party's platform includes the phrase "pro-life".

Gravatar The Scourge is in rare form today, I see. "Absolutely clueless" regarding Mary Jo Kopechne is an apt phrase, I'd say.

Gravatar If Cheney and Whittington were alone, and if Cheney had grievously injured Whittington, knew he was so, and then scampered away for 24 hrs. before alerting police, THEN the Cheney situation would be analogous to Teddy's.

Gravatar Nobody needs to stick it to Teddy Kennedy, he's fully capable of doing it to himself. The point is to illustrate liberal hypocrisy. Jason just makes it too easy.

Gravatar If you'd like another liberal perspective, I've got to say I think it's pretty funny. Let's just hope Whittington pulls through from this heart attack. Or else the joke will be on the conservatives who made the sticker.

Gravatar Jason- "...before I was born?" What the hell does that have to do with it? That is like saying, "Well, I guess it happened, but since I wasn't around, it doesn't matter." Do you admit that the Holocaust happened "before you were born," as well?
"Other" deaths are not apropos to this discussion, but since you are so hung up on that sort of smoke and mirrors deflection from your idiocy regarding Teddy Kennedy's crime, I must ask, what about the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS, and potentially MILLIONS, exterminated by Saddam Hussein? Why do you value lives lost during the Iraq war so much more than theirs, particularly American lives lost?

Mike- It was a heart attack so minor, the doctors say Mr. Whittington had no symptoms. He is not knocking on death's door. Stop portraying it as such. The doctors have made it fairly clear that he will survive.

Gravatar Mike- Disregard the last comment to you.

Gravatar Jess,

Your verbiage turns me on (that is, if you're a chick.) Hey, what can I say!? It's Valentine's Day and I'm without company, so my flirting will have to do.

Gravatar Hahahaha. Yes, I'm a chick. Would be funny if I were a dude, no?
My verbiage is far from appealing, I know.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Oh, and for the record, I had you confused with someone else. I can't keep all the Mikes straight!
