Gravatar Both good choices. I just saw Jason's story on channel 11 out of Baltimore - very powerful. Of course, it also makes you wonder why he wasn't playing more, but that's another debate entirely. Its awesome for him, and props to the school for supporting him.

As far as the Harvard thing, I actually agree with you. Damn, I hate it when that happens.

Gravatar Question: This may be too personal, but is your brother involved with either DAP or ASD?

Gravatar Well since he lives with my parents in PA, he isn't in DAP. Not sure about ASD in our area.

Gravatar There isn't much to say for the first one, except that it's a very good choice and a very sweet story. Schools are becoming better and better about how they integrate special needs students. My sister's high school's football team won the state championship and gave their awards to her class and threw a party for them. Of course, none of her classmates were on the team, but it's just an example of how far we've come in that regard. There wasn't much integration when I was in school.
The only thing I can say about Harvard is, "I hate those guys, I hate them so very, very much," to quote Cartman. Don't tell anyone- men and women are different. Shhhhh. It's a big secret.

Gravatar I've had several Aspergers students in my classes over the last few years and they are THE most likeable kids! And indeed, talk about "high-functioning" -- they have been among my best students academically.
