Ryan,
Take my advice, don't hope for Hilary to get the nomination unless you are hoping for her to be the President.
I prayed for Bush to beat McCain. I figured that Bush, clearly a dumb-ass, would be easy to beat.
Look what happened.

Allen is in no danger of losing his seat. He is as popular as Senator as Mark Warner was as Governor. Further, he has no opponent, to my knowledge. Warner has said he is not running for the seat, presumably to run for President.
I'm not sure Hillary could win the Presidency. Unlike Jason, I will not resort to calling her names because I disagree with her- I have more of a brain than that. She will not win because she is too abrasive and controversial for many. And keep in mind, she's a woman who has accomplished most things in her political life mainly on the basis of who her husband is.

Come on, Jess, we all know that Hillary was the driving force behind Bill; he didn't have the self-discipline to accomplish anything on his own! Hmm, Hillary as sinister Dick Cheney figure, controlling everything behind the scenes.

Yes, personally, I think that Bush could run again, and Hillary is ineligable.
According to the Dems, Bush wasn't elected the first time, so he can run again. Hillary was already President for two consecutive terms, and cannot run Constituationally.

Oh, I get it. She was actually running things because she had her own original ideas, thoughts, opinions, and used her public position to advocate causes that she cared about. How dare she leave the kitchen?

Gee Mike, who said she should stick to baking cookies? I believe the point was to disabuse the notion that Hillary is where she is because she was married to Bill, when in fact it's the other way around. Lefties like to caricature the president as a dummy who takes his orders from Cheney, Rove, and Rumsfeld, but I think posterity will show that Hillary was the Clinton with an agenda, and Bill was the cuddly and electable front man. Unfortunately for her, she's too shrill and abrasive to advance that agenda on her own.

My point was that this is a favorite propaganda tool of the right, and they have yet to produce any real evidence of it. There's nothing wrong with a bright, highly qualified woman running for office and succeeding. Her name does not explain her approval rating being so high in Republican areas - she's done a lot for NY in spite of being a "carpetbagger," and in general the citizens appreciate that.
Just because a woman is successful does not mean that she did it on the back of her husband, and just because she has her own ideas does not mean that she is manipulaive and opportunistic (though all politicians are) - this was my point.

Besides, I know how repulsive Republicans think it is for someone to use their family name to say, get into a good university, avoid a war, get into state government, and then attempt to move on to the presidency. Oh, wait a minute...
