"Go Bolton!"
Never thought I'd say this, but I agree. The more I see how retarded certain aspects of UN action/inaction are, the more I like some of what Bolton is attempting to do. I still don't like how he got the position, but perhaps ironically he has been one of Bush's better appointments, at least so far.

Well, what did we expect? The PRC is always against any condemnation of what a sovereign nation does within their own borders, as that precedent could be applied to their actions against the Tibetans and the Uighurs, or to any future action against Taiwan. Likewise with Russia and the Chechnya campaign.

Thus begins the proxy wars over oil, and perhaps a new Cold War with China... anyone who thinks this is about genocide or human rights is just plain nuts. The US better think twice if we think we will win a new Cold War the same way we won the last one. China has the benefit of learning from the USSR's mistakes and is not likely to repeat them.

Gee, is it any wonder that China and Russia, two nations responsible for incredible human rights violations and mass murders couldn't bring themselves to condemn the violence in Darfur?

Thus the reason the US and its friends have to work together outside of the UN system sometimes.....
And who exactly would those "friends" be, after two terms of GWB?
