Gravatar Well, if there was any doubt that Fox News was just a mouthpiece for the Bush administration, that doubt is gone. This should be a very natural transition for Mr. Snow - he and his friends have been spouting Bush propaganda for the last 6 years now.

P.S. I can attest that Ryan is indeed in the picture.

Gravatar I can't wait to see David Gregory eviscerate this idiot.

Gravatar You got a sweatshirt? Man, all I got was a t-shirt. (I made the comment that CBS should qualify as a 527 group, since they have a partisan agenda and are losing enough money to be a non-profit.)

I think Snow will do a great job, and will be the one doing the eviscerating of punks like David Gregory. As for being a mouthpiece, here's a quote from Tony's critique of the last State of the Union address:

(Feb 3, Townhall.com)
"This year's presidential clunkers included an energy policy filled with stuff that even Jimmy Carter abandoned. Declaring the nation "addicted to oil," the president suggested that a spending-addicted Congress take more of the public's money."

The only problem with this move is that I'll have to find something else to listen to in the morning. Al Mascitti doesn't do it for me, so I'm hoping Fox will replace Snow with John Kasich or something.

Gravatar The occational critical comment does not make up for the rest of the spin and propaganda produced by Snow and Fox in general. I don't care that they're biased or conservative - I care that they claim to be "fair and balanced." Obviously, they are not if Bush is rewarding members of the network for their efforts.

Gravatar I don't think I'd consider it to be much of a reward to be the spokesman for the "Worst President Ever" (according to the latest Rolling Stone, anyway.) If you actually listened to Snow's radio show, you'd know that he has been consistently critical of the administration on a number of issues, including but not limited to border security, energy policy and the total lack of vetos on Congressional spending. On the other side from Fox, you have Katie Couric being rewarded for being a good little attack poodle, and George Stephanopolis held up as a paragon of oblectivity.

Gravatar Attacking a Republican president from the right still is not "fair and balanced;" honestly, I don't care that Fox has shows with attack dogs on it really. What bugs me is that they pretend they are presenting a balanced view of the news. Remember that study that showed more Fox viewers than anyone thought we had found WMDs in Iraq? There's a difference between some subliminal bias and intentionally manipulating the public.

Gravatar Tony Snow is not idiot, and if you read some of his former comments he is not LOCK-STEP with the president. Tony is a well spoken individual who will do a great job as WHPS. Oh, and that comment about David Gregory is funny, because Mr. Snow will wipe his ass with Gregory-- furthermore not taking any shit from the topic changing color shifting carpet bagging finger pointing can't come up with a plan because all we want to do is bitch and complain that the federal government won't take care of us like were were in kindergarten leftists.

Gravatar This has to be the first case in record history of a rat jumping onto a sinking ship.

Also, have you noticed that Snow has a huge head.

Gravatar Mike: I'm sure you are just as "concerned" about guys like George Stephanopolis on ABC, Chris Matthews and Tim Russert on NBC and the like, right?

I just looooove the bitching about Fox News. Man the ONE outlet that swings right and all hell breaks loose. God help us.

Maybe you'll like this nugget on FNC, Mike. It "convinced" 3-8% of voters to vote Repub. since they went on the air. Heavens!

Gravatar Yes - I find it a huge deal that a media outlet more or less works as the propaganda machine of a party while claiming to be fair and balanced. That last part is key - I can read the Wall Street Journal and find fairly balanced news, but know ahead of time that the opinion page will be slanted right. And that's fine - I think its a great newspaper.

Funny story - my mom was watching FoxNews the other day when I walked into the room (Larry King was on CNN - not a family favorite). I jokingly asked "gee, what brave and self-sacraficing action is the president doing today?" No sooner had I spoke, Fox starts running a story on how Bush gave up spending Sunday with his family to visit troops. They interjected this as a news alert, as though something serious was going on. It was funny and scary at the same time.

The only positive thing I have to say about the whole thing is this: at least Bush was willing to appoint someone to his administration who has criticized him at least a little. Better than the rest of the puppets he has working for him, even if Snow is a right-wing critic.

Gravatar Hube, Please. You mean these guys?

George Stephanopoulos: Trying to earn his bona fides as a real journalists bashes dems at every turn.

Chris Matthews: Thinks the President is "popular" and keeps saying so in spite of all evidence to the contrary (27% in Del.)

Tim Russert: Frequently repeats the GOP lie that Dems got money from Jack Abramoff..

Those liberals...? When will they give the poor GOP a fair shake.

By the way - The size of Snow's noggin is scary.

Gravatar Bush can hire whomever will take the job. There are more important things to be worried about than how much you hate the Press Secretary. It isn't up to them how much information they don't divulge.

Gravatar Jason, what's with your fascination with Tony Snow's melon? It's nothing compared to the massive tumor on your pal Teddy Kennedy's shoulders.

Gravatar Great examples, jase. Just take a look at all the talking points the Kossacks are putting out there about Snow's quotes against the president and Republicans! But -- somehow they don't apply 'cause ... Snow worked for Fox News!

Man, are you thick ....

Mike: Well, it is amazing you find it a "huge" deal that there's ONE right-leaning major news outlet out there. ONE. I know you desire an utter monopoly, but just don't expect the rest of us to feel sorry for you!

Gravatar Again, as was CLEARLY stated, I don't really care if they're a right-leaning news source, but they should admit it instead of claiming to be "fair and balanced." Propaganda is not the same as news.

Gravatar I agree, provided that CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, The New York Times, Washington Post, etc. etc. admit that they are liberal.

Gravatar Remember that study that showed more Fox viewers than anyone thought we had found WMDs in Iraq?

I guess that they're better informed than most, then.

Gravatar Glad to see you continue to live in a FoxNews fantasy world, mynym. Just because the rest of the media isn't in the lap of the Republican Party does NOT make it liberal.

Gravatar No, it doesn't make it liberal, just as FoxNews being conservative doesn't make it "in the lap of the Republican Party."

Gravatar I can't argue with that statement - the three negatives in the same sentence has cause my head to explode. lol.
