Tom Coburn is the only person in government today that actually inspires me to run for office.
I would love to see someone do a feature film documentary expose' on earmarks. You know, like Fahrenheit 9/11, but truthful?

When the toranados hit Moore Oklahoma, Tom Coburn turned down relief money from the government, calling it "malarky". Maybe if it were his home that got trashed by a twister he would have thought differently! By the way DEMOCRAT Kathy Taylor is the NEW MAYOR OF TULSA!

If more representatives in DC thought like Colburn we would not be facing this looming financial crisis. As the "Fiscal Wake-Up Tour" demonstrated, it's only going to get worse too, if we don't act now.

I didn't know much about Coburn so I thought I'd read up a little.
Tom Coburn is "Santorum West."
Seems Coburn the big spending critic has voted YES for every busted Bush budget, as far as I can tell.
He voted NO on the most recent pay-as-you-go bill, after voting YES last year (I guess the RNC got to him!!)

And not to get off-topic here, but Coburn holds a lot of wacky social positions too:
Coburn is rabidly pro-life, but as far as I know he is the only member of Congress who has actually performed abortions with his own hands.
Coburn has been quoted as saying that the gay agenda is the greatest threat to America.
Coburn says global warming is "just a lot of crap."

Oh well, maybe I'm not being fair to Coburn. After all, I just started reading about him today. After your recommendation I was hoping to find something other than the usual Republican hypocrisy.

Still, in the "culture of corruption" he's far and away one of the better members of Congress.
