Wow, were you on the ball. I see your point about writing right away while it was still fresh. However, I think I needed time to process. Good post.

I can only hope that I would have the courage to do what those brave people did.
You (did not) don't have to courage to enlist, so... hope in vain young man.

You never answered, Scourge -- why didn't you enlist for Kosovo, Haiti and Somalia?
You'd be just like that German guy in the movie, I'm afraid.

Though I appreciate the sentiment behind Jason's argument (i.e. those who support the war should be willing to fight in it instead of sending others in their stead), I think this kind of personal attack is rather childish and rude; moreover, it does not advance the discourse about the issues at hand.
While the question of who is actually fighting the war is wholly valid, to attack an individual for their personal decisions about their future will win you little support or sympathy, at least with me.

While you are taking the high road, low life creeps like Ryan are destrotying this country with thier empty headed jingoism.
I am attacking Ryan as a coward, but only as a proxy for all the other low life yellow elephant GOP cowards who voted for Bush and cheer on this vanity war.
Now if Ryan decided to apologize for voting for Bush and cheering on his vanity war - I'd stop.
Ibfact - that is an open invitation to the delaware-wingnut-osphere. Apologize for voting for Bush, work to make this country whole again, and I will forgive.

Jason, I'll apologize for voting for Bush...never. It was my choice, and I feel no need to apologize. Deal with it.

Yes yes yes. The Scourge continues to exercise the jingoism of "those who agree w/the war must fight in it."
Yet, the Scourge continues to evade the question: Why did he not sign up for Kosovo? Haiti? Somalia?
Or, did he disagree with those Clinton-initiated actions?

Hube,
Your comment is so stupid it barely warrants a response, but in the interest of our national unity, here it goes.
Bush has described the fight in Iraq as a part of WWIII. Now, it is a war that he lied to get us into and was cheered on in that transparent lie by the likes of you, and yellow elephant Ryan Silberstein. The war has cost us 2,500 US military lives and has put a burden on the National Guard. In dollars the war has cost us $245 trillion SO FAR.
Clearly this is a huge undertaking, and if you believe in this undertaking - you have a job to do. Enlist.
Kosovo: 4,000 U.S. troops deployed by Bill Clinton as part of a 28,000-troop NATO peacekeeping operation.
Somalia: With only weeks left in his term as president, George HW Bush responds to the UN request, proposing that US combat troops lead an international UN force to secure the environment for relief operations. On December 5, the UN accepts his offer, and Bush orders 25,000 US troops into Somalia.
Hati: In 1994 Bill Clinton lent US Naval Support for UN embargo.
Now, I don't think that you actually think there is a comparison between these actions and Iraq. Rather I think that you are grasping at straws.
If you honestly think a legitimate comparison exists - you are worse off In your Bushian hero worship than I ever imagined.

Ryan,
I'm glad you are still happy with that choice. I guess you'll be headed down to the National Guard recruiter's office sometime this week.
You'll be needed to help protect out southern border from the brown hordes.
Have fun in boot camp tough guy.

There is no grasping at straws, scourge. The comparison is apt. Either you put your money where your uncomprehending mouth is, or you back off. It's quite simple, actually.
Did you or did you not sign up to go to Kosovo, Haiti or Somalia? (I am aware Bush 1 began Somalia; it was Clinton who changed the mission.) Obviously, based on your lack of response, the answer is NO, so then the question becomes -- WHY? Either you disageed with those military efforts -- or you're exactly what you chastising Ryan about.
I know your pathetically weak intellect cannot grasp how you've been made to look like a complete buffoon yet AGAIN, but deal with it.

Easy twitchy - or maybe you posted twice for effect?
Anyway, I take your nonsense response to mean that you are worse off In your Bushian hero worship than I ever imagined.
I guess you'll be joining the yellow elephants down at the recruiters after Bush declares pretend-war on Mexico tonight?

The Scourge's "nonsense" = Asking relevant and hard questions in response to direct attacks upon someone's character.
You are as much a coward, scourge, as you claim Ryan to be, based on your own sick "logic."
Or perhaps the reason you refuse to answer the question is embarrassment: The military rejected you for mental deficiency.

Ah... once again we see the cultural hypocrisy of the wacked out left -- it is OK for people like Scourge to claim folks like Ryan are supporting Bush and his plan to thwart the "brown hordes" from Mexico; in the next breath, he makes a gay joke.
How so "tolerant" of you. Now we can add "homophobe" to the list of negatives you represent, Scourge.

Jason,
Are you actually capable of rational thought? I have seen not one word indicating that you have any sort of logical, coherent thought in any of your comments.
Oh, and are you willing to fight in a war? You seem to have neglected to mention that you are a coward yourself, as I assume you are too cowardly to go yourself.
As for me, I actually am physically unable to go, but I would be willing to do so if it were possible. And there are many other ways to serve one's country besides military service, as all branches of government employ at least some talented individuals. Civilians do a great deal in creating and improving military equipment, for example. However, I don't see you doing ANYTHING that improves this nation at all. You think you are standing for something, but I have not seen any idea from you that is not pure hatred, and that does nobody any good. Either you need to grow a brain, or a heart, or both. I can't decide, but you aren't really contributing anything to this "debate" which you lefties claim to want so much.

sorry my late response...but in japan this movie united 93 has just been started in couple weeks ago.
this movies seems to be made very well....but i couldnt get several lines at ending.
cuz i've heard there's no capacity in the states even though by using whole airpote in the states to take entire jet planes simulataneously...but there's such kinda discreptions. and is it necessary to describe about every singl fighters are 160km far from flight93? or nobody obay the order to shot down jet plane?
the reason why they need to describe this is not only for consider bereaved families but seem to hide "shot down"....
if u have a time, plz dropped by my blog.
