Duh. Why can't we do that here too? It's not profiling anyway. As Coulter says, "It's a description of the suspect."

Perhaps, but by Ms Coulter's argument all Arabs are therefore always suspects. -- guilty until proven innocent. That doesn't sound like the way our justice system is supposed to work.
Mike, if 19 small asian women were guilty of 9-11, I wouldn't begrudge anyone for profiling me.
Why is it ok for doctors to profile? If a middle aged, fat, white guy comes into the office, the first thing checked is cholesterol and prostate. If a middle aged black man shows up, the first thing checked is hypertension.
Never did understand the current political incorrectness of profiling.
Mike, I don't think all Arab males are made suspect, but come on, airports pulling little Polish grandmothers out for embarassing searches but letting middle-eastern men with one way tickets go through just so the authorities don't look like their profiling borders on the ridiculous. My step-mother has even gotten searched--like she looks suspicious-- while others get through.
Why are single white males profiled as serial killers?

I agree with Bill Maher's stand. Profiling for terrorism is a necessary evil. It's politically incorrect and it's vicious. But, we need it. Don't go randomly searching 80-year old grannies. It's pointless. Go after the tan-skinned men with cloth on their heads and eight-inch long beards.
Okay. But if I was planning to blow something up (and I'm not), I'd recruit 89-year old women in babushkas to carry my ordnance.
This was probably the most politically correct terror bust in history. The last thing they wanted to do was profile, and never forget the CBC headline- these men represent a "broad strata" of Canadian society!
So glad they were caught, however. I do not like people who want to f*ck with Harper. And let's face facts- were he not in power, this probably would not have happened, but Harper and his government are fully on board in the war on terror. I think we're going to see a tougher Canada in the coming year, and the notion that they are a safe haven for terrorists will have to change as the Conservatives crack down on asylum policies. After all, this was the first government to cut off aid to Palestine after Hamas was elected.
