Gravatar That has to be the silliest, stupidest test I've ever seen in my life. The questions are obviously rhetorical and meant to elicit more than a simple "yes" or "no" response.

Gravatar And #6.

Gravatar For some reason my comments were posted out of order.....

Gravatar Oh. Good points. He explains, and I guess it is more a litmus-style test than a quiz.

Gravatar And how is #3 a yes/no question?

Gravatar 5. Do you believe that education is more important than public schools?

5-A Do you appove of Sen. Sokola and Rep. Ulbrich of being voting school board member of Newark Charter School?

5-B Do you feel state legislators should represent all public school fairly?

5-C Do you feel the Vice-Chairman of the House Education Committee and the Chairman of the Senate Education Committee would be in conflict sitting on school boards?

http://kilroysdelaware.blogspot.com/

Gravatar I thought they were all pretty obvious, but I got confused at the end when I realized that they were supposed to be yes/no since two questions were either/or. Then again, I confuse easily...

Gravatar More conservative attempts to oversimplify complex issues while making it appear as though their positions are all based on high-ideals and produce no ills. Some comments on the questions...

1. Duh. Who could really answer no to this question? "I think kids should get by on their own."

2. By already stating that human beings are flawed and imperfect, the answer MUST be yes, because governments are not run by non humans (unless you count the chimp and the robot currently in office).

3. This borders on a legitimate question, but does not have enough detail to answer really. Who provides the pension? Is it money you earned while working?

4. Again, what else could the answer be? "Nope, I trust my health to the pink iguana living in my sock drawer."

5. If we get rid of public schools, where would a vast majority of kids learn? From their gang buddies on the streets? Obviously this is a trick question...

6. Could easily be reworded "Do you hate America, because if you don't agree its the best country on Earth you clearly do, so why don't you leave?"

Ok, enough sarcasm for tonight. That was fun though...maybe I should write a liberal test so some of you fine conservatives can shred it apart. lol.

It kind of answers the question from the previous thread, is the conservative movement brain dead?

uh...yep.

Gravatar And yet when you look at the policies liberals promote, it sure doesn't look like they could answer "yes" to any of those questions.

Only if you are asking the straw-man cartoon liberal that Republicans prefer.

Gravatar Only if you are asking the straw-man cartoon liberal that Republicans prefer.

...and Democrats elect.

Gravatar Now we know McGehee is full of crap. We all know us poor Democrats haven't had anybody elected in quite a while now...

//sad but true

Gravatar Oh, so a pension is just another form of a "dole," and not a subset of wealth built up over time? An employer pays less in wages and instead makes a lump payment to a pension fund invested to grow into a nest egg to pay a set benefit in retirement. This is not a gift; this is part of a negotiated compensation package, be that negotiation a handshake with a pledge or a clause in a contract. The value of the bond that is a man's word -- or used to be -- today seems lost in either compact.
If over time, the employer skimps on the agreed-upon contribution so that the pension fund is short of what it should be, the employee's retirement "plan" is screwed. That same employee could have agreed to a higher wage and put a portion away in the bank, the market or whatever, but the pension fund was the agreed upon method. If the fund's investments were bad, that's baseball.
The core thinking that underlies the assumption that a pension is a form of a handout is not conservatism, it is Feudalism. That income upon retirement is EARNED income -- deferred compensation.
And yes, government -- and this virulent strain of "coonservative thought" -- does reflect the imperfections of human beings, at the moment most glaringly greed, avarice, selfishness and an appalling lack of regard for community/nation.
You might just as well just come out and say: Let them eat cake.

Gravatar Dude, Please stop calling yourself a conservative. You are not a conservative. You are a shallow, pathetic little sloganeer with about a 2nd grade grasp on what it means to be a conservative (right in line with your hero Mr. George Dumbass Bush).

Stop discrediting our movement by identifying yourself with it. Cease and desist!! In the name of all that his holy and undefiled by neo-con and pseudo-con statists like yourself.

PLEASE, do us conservatives a favor. If you feel you must always be about who you oppose rather than what you stand for then please attack your hated 'liberals' in the worst, most damaging way conceivable : start calling yourself one!

Thanks, buddy.
