If I may quote from Firefly "Any man who got a statue built of him had to be one kind of son of a bitch or another." However serious and factual these acusations of Lincoln the fact remains that Lincoln was acting virtuously with these measures. His virtue was that by doing this he saved this great nation and started a chain of events to end slavery in the civilized world. Virtue is found in the results of actions when and these actions, however heinous they were, saved this continent from repeating the bloody history of Europe by being split up into seperate nations constantly at odds with each other. There isn't enough room on this continent for two seperate countries, Canada doesn't count as its a US national park with a different flag.
Lincoln was a statist and a tyrant.
