I an glad they picked Ferris, but their format for the endorsement was less than flattering. I was kind of dissapointed how they worked through their reasoning, seemed almost against their will.

It is one of the least strongly written "endorsements" I have ever seen. Still shocked that it happened at all though.

The fact that it is not strongly written, I think, helps the case for the Republicans. Esentially, what you are reading is a Democrat trying to rationalize his or her vote for a Republican candidate in a year with bitter political division. It might send a message to other Democratic readers that its ok to jump ship just on this candidate because of the reasons they state.
I'm still undecided in this race, but reading the editorial def. helped me lean back towards the Wharton camp. Perhaps a weak, less partisian endorsement is exactly what he needed.
