Let's not even get started on the fact that a zombie movie remake is far superior in the box office than a somewhat de-fanged movie adaption of a book about child's magical quest to kill God.
From a political standpoint, because of the success that Petraeus has had, he was able to neutralize the Iraq War issue in the upcoming election. Domestic issues reign again!
That's a very good point, Gary. I shouldn't have overlooked that.
While I still think its too soon for me to admit that I was wrong about the surge, I hope progress continues. Things are better, and Praetus deserves much credit. Our military has done its job and deserves worlds of credit. The Iraqis must now begin to do theirs so that we can get as many of our men and women home as soon as possible.
