This is what happens in the last two years of an adminstration; the big-hitters have moved on, so the JV takes over and lets something as ridiculous as the firing of 8 US Att's turn into a "scandal." The US Att's serve at the pleasure of the President, and presumably are supposed to embrace the administration's priorities. BTW priorities/policy doesnt equal 'politics'. It equals governance
(now if they fired them b/c they wouldnt indict dems, that a whole other story that is a problem, but as far as I know, there has been little evidence of that, just conjecture by the media)

Like a lot of things with this administration, I think it is a case of the "cover-up being worse than the crime." I have no doubt that the Bush administration is one of the more corrupt that we have seen in recent decades, but they'd do themselves a whole lot of favors if they'd not try so hard to keep their political manuvers so secretive.
