"If they did, why are they still funding the war?"
Some have already voted not to, while others must think about reelection. Sad that such considerations would come before principle, but its a political reality; they fear the Republican smear campaign that would inevitably follow. In my view, if the Democrats rallied solidly behind a complete and immediate withdrawal, so too would the American people. I'm just not sure they have enough of a majority to do it succesfully, and some I'm sure truly realize that if we pull out and Iraq becomes a have for international terrorism, we cannot allow that to exist for long.
