It is unfortunate that we're now to the point where we have to wonder if a four star general is credible or if he is merely another pawn of the Bush administration, out to reinforce his "all is well" state of denial with which he has led he nation for the past several years. I hope, at the very least, they nail Petraeus with questions to make sure he's "shooting straight" and not talking with the hand of politics up his back.
You can wonder all you want, but Petraeus has never set off my political radar, as in someone who acts in a political fashion. Everything I've read about him seems to indicate he just wants to the best job he can.
However, at this point anyone who even seems like they might agree with Bush comes under severe scrutiny from the Left and the media. Hopefully Petraeus' credibility will shine through MoveOn's "Betray Us" rhetoric.
Consider Petraeus nailed. Big time!
