Though I find playing politics with this from the starting gate rather tacky, crap like this does woo me ever closer and closer to the conservative side of the gun issue. Then again, when was the last British, German, French, etc. school shooting?
That said (i hit submit too soon), as a teacher there are times when I wish I could have a gun for the safety of my students. And so that more of them would respect my "authorit-uh" as Cartman would say...

There was a French one last year, one in the Netherlands a couple years ago, and one in Britain in the 90s.
interesting - a vast majority are still in the US, and according to the article, the one in the UK led to the hand gun ban. Many of the European attacks were stabbings and on a smaller scale.
I talked to another teacher about the issue of letting teachers have guns. His reply, "Nah, we'd be too tempted to use them." lol.
