If Britain has become such a foul pit of degradation, filled with whores, drunks and foreigners...

Is this supposed to be a problem? Strikes me that "foul pit of degradation" is about the only thing Britain has going for it.* But being a drunk foreigner, I could be biassed.
Come to that, is it supposed to be a recent phenomenon?

Here, here. One of my local cafes has introduced a Polish Blonde Waitress Policy which has given me a sudden urge to drink vast amounts of coffee and read approximately two sentences, at a push, of my current favourite novel. It's a win/win situation as far as I can see.
