Gravatar This reminds me very much of a hearing I attended at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham on 9th January 2007.

The plaintiffs, Chester City FC SC, lodged a charge of adverse nationality with malice aforethought against Wrexham AFC SC, on two grounds: namely that the defendants

i. were Welsh; and
ii. that they knew they were.

The defendants moved to dismiss the claim on the grounds of insufficient locus standi, alleging that the plaintiffs had two fatal weaknesses in their case:

i. a shit ground; and
ii. no fans.

The hearing proved inconclusive, the plaintiffs making a series of ill-evidenced accusations of ovine bestiality while the defendants’ counsel expressed the desire to settle the matter out of court once the formal proceedings of the afternoon were concluded.

The case was adjourned to a hearing at the Deva Stadium on 13th March 2007, though the defendants expressed dissatisfaction with the judicial facilities on offer at the Chester Assizes, stating that CCFC SC possessed:

i. a ground made of Lego; and further that
ii. their ground was made of Lego.

The court rose at 4.48pm.
