I saw Kate's post this morning. Not only is it awesome, it shows me why as a society we shouldn't expect people who can't look after themselves fully to make their own arrangements. Simon is lucky that he has a family that can look after him, and a sister that is capable to continue to when his parents can't. But what happens to those who don't have this? Is it only those disabled people who have caring and financially ok families that can expect this quality of life?

*no, really. the first adventure game I played was Ultima Underworld (immediately known as Ultimate Underwear) and I had to get my (then) boyfriend to fight the monsters. Aveline blu-tacked an anhk to the pc for good vibes.
