Gravatar I promptly asked him if we could run around doing so for the fun of it

Well? Did you?

Brownie points duly noted in the Great Book of Disgusted Self-restraint.

Gravatar *hands Krin Brownie points*

Gravatar Just don't poke Snerg about this topic.

Gravatar heh, I imagine that Snerg and I would have a very similar conversation.

There's the stupidity of sending boarding school boys home and spreading the virus more widely, when one student contracts it, rather than sealing them off in a facility that is designed to house them for a month, and waiting till the infection has played out.

Although, apparently we're not at "containment" stage in the pandemic plan.

Actually I think it's mostly fuelled by crisis management buffs who have had these plans for decades and no opportunity to use them, as well as futurists who've been predicting one and are now revelling in it.

Perhaps I should start an apocalypse journal, for posterity when this pandemic is over and the survivors are trying to rebuild society and learn their lessons for where it all went horribly wrong.

I lose my brownie points now, don't I?

In related news, my manager came over this morning, and slightly tongue in cheek asked us all how we were feeling. He got suitable tongue in cheek replies.

Gravatar "Perhaps I should start an apocalypse journal, for posterity when this pandemic is over and the survivors are trying to rebuild society and learn their lessons for where it all went horribly wrong."

It should have knitting patterns using giunormous needles and tips on how to make your hair look like it's unwashed and dreadlocky but still have perfect make-up on.

Essential tips for a post-apocolyptic world.

Gravatar The only real solution is to get everybody at work to turn up in these and see if you all get a week off.

Gravatar the ultimate accessory!

Gravatar I had to laugh when I read this article:
http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/in...=1869& Itemid=59
from the UK's equivalent of the Onion/the Chaser. Particularly the following paragraph:

"Britain is now in the slowly tightening grip of a fresh panic after officials upgraded the virus from 'elaborate hoax' to 'about the same as a badger attack'."
