Yon, Rogio, and Totten are my sources!
Bill Roggio's reports were not as one sided as reports coming from either the left or the right were.
The reporting immediately after Knight's Assault were either "we are doomed" or "we kicked some real Sadr...." when neither was the truth.
The parallel I am trying to draw is news from the front is seldom as good or as bad as the initial reports indicate, and even though the Iraqi brigade was smasehd there is much more going on than just that. A (lib) buddy of mine focues exclusively on the IA brigade that was smashed as evidence that Sadr is King Midas. That the Hitlerites smashed a number of mid to large sized American Army units in the Ardennes did not mean he won the war.
Another co-blogger wants to believe the IA killing 1,000 Sadrites was a sign of our victory there. Again, its too early to tell what it really means. Again, counting bodies and noting those counts heavily favored our side did not win us Vietnam.

Michael Yon, Bill Roggio, Black Five all report daily with real updates.
Whatever references you looked at to make this post is quite possibly erroneous.
After early defections and downright cowardice, the Iraqui's have reversed their fortune in this battle and have squeezed Sadr into surrender.
That is a good thing.
Up-risings in the persian side of the equasion leaves Iran inept.
Any spin put on this battle as less then a win for Maliki and Iraq is downright wrong.
