What relation does the headline of that story bear to the story? The Tennessean is doomed.

Killer rap lyrics, crime movies, drug culture ...all the more reason for law-abiding people to protect themselves.
And perhaps if we KEPT the bad guys in prison we would have less need to defend.
We wonder if some groups are more worried about IMAGE and to change our TN. Country heritage or culture. Oh dear..What will those tourist think?
Bad idea !

The fact is, if you want to be a doctor you have extensive schooling and are required to pass medical board exams, an attorney must pass the BAR, a CPA must pass the Uniform CPA exam...BUT
anyone can call themselves a journalist.
The Tennessean will not survive because management's academic elitism will not allow them to return to the fundamentals of journalism.
Can they not see that declining revenues and subscribership is a direct result of the intellectually impotent crap they're doling out?

I have no earthly idea how the title and information in the article relate. Forget whatever crazy message they’re trying to convey – the article is just bad from a basic journalism perspective, with apparently no editorial review or oversight.
Gannett may be responsible for slowly running the Tennessean franchise into the ground for profit, but the leadership down on Broadway is throwing gasoline on a fire.
It’s like Silverman, et. al., can’t remember what left-wing-wacko political stance they took last week because they’re too busy endorsing politicos, shilling for convention centers, and setting up Randy Rayburn to push their anti-state legislation pabulum.
What a fiasco – and what a disservice to the people who are actually there to sincerely put in a day’s work.
But you know what they say here in Franklin: “A dead fish rots from the head down.”

What will keep all the illegal guns out of bars, parks, etc.? I am sure they are already there. Wonder what you would find if you set did a metal screen at Pinkerton Park?
