Didn't watch the academy awards. I do want to see "No Country for Old Men" though. I've heard it's good. I haven't seen "There Will be Blood" yet either. I'm kind of behind on my movies.
Anyway, to get back to that Shaman guy. He sounds a little...er...different. I'm sure he's a nice fellow and everything, but I've never bought into that stuff he's "selling". I heard that 2012 is supposed to be the, and I mean the, year of apocalyptic change though. In fact I bought a book on it. Yeah, yeah, I know. But I started reading a little bit and liked the author's style. He's kind of tongue in cheek about the whole thing.
The guy "self-references"? What the heck is that?
Nice to know you made up with the Brit. Yeah, I suppose his being in Iraq would color his perceptions of someone from there. So it's nice to hear that you guys are now getting along.
Have you had a chance to do any sightseeing?
ya ya! i did a bit of that as well, nothing serious because simply i dont have the time yet, i just try to use my holidays to take pics and all

I know, I know. That's one drawback of being in the "world". There is just so much that needs to get done! 
Glad you could get out and about a little though. Taking a break from work really helps. Even if it is only a few hours. And the weather here is almost spring like. So that really helps to brighten up a day.
Yup, gotta see Ratatouille(spelling looks good to me *shrug*) too.

Okay, it was good. But a little dark, both figuratively and literally.
I didn't watch much of the Academy Awards, but I saw a movie that was nominated for Best Animated Feature a few weeks ago. The movie is Persepolis. It is the story of Marjan Satrapi, who created an autobiographical comic book of the same name. Marjan witnessed the end of the Shah's regime in Iran as a little girl, and lived through the very difficult times that followed. It is an amazing and very touching story! Here is a link:

I just bought that book a couple weeks ago. I've read a few tidbits here and there, but haven't had time to start if for real yet. Abbas(alias the Kid) did a review of it awhile back.
David: Persepolis! i just found a copy of that, albeit in Swedish at the local library, so no chance for me to read it just yet!

The version of Persepolis that I saw was in French with English subtitles. However, I think there is an English language version of the movie now making the rounds. I hope you get to see it! However, the Swedish language book sounds like good practice for you.

I've watched the first part of the show, yes Day-Lewis deserved the best acting award. Well as a Depp fan I wanted him to get the award but his performance in the movie wasn't that much. So congrats Daniel and if someone could explain to me what happened at the end of There Will Be Blood I would appreciate it.
Thanx for giving me the full ending of the movie but I got that already what I didn't get was why did Plainview killed Eli. Just Why???? and there I've spoiled the movie :p
