SOMEBODY SET UP US THE COMMENT:

Gravatar *hides under her desk from shamans*

Gravatar i dont know if i should even be posting this...

Ahh, think of it this way, you just saved your comments section from some creative spamming. :D

So, that's what Ubuntu is! When I was having my flash plug in problem, and was searching the web, I landed on some kind of message board for that. Someone else had posted about the same problem. No good solution appeared though. I tried to go back after I fixed my problem to let them know, but you had to be a member to post.

Sounds like you are running into all sorts of problems with the computer. Sometimes I wonder, does nothing ever go completely smoothly with them? We installed Quickbooks 2008 on our computers at work and it has been a complete headache. It keeps locking up. *sigh*

Mmmm...your Shaman friend is sounding odder and odder as time goes by. Although he seems to mean well...

A cold, huh? Okay, so I have a home remedy for clogged sinuses, if you're willing to be a little grossed out?

Well, even if you're not, here goes...

Mix a little salt in a cup of warm water and inhale that into your nose. You will want to spit the residue out, rather than swallow it. Repeat as often as necessary. Yeah, I know, it's sounds gross, but it does work. No, I've never been desperate enough to try it, but I know a couple people who have.

Hope you feel better and you get your laptop up and running.

Gravatar does this explain why 2 of your address's connected whith my IM ??

Gravatar Mel: well, i'd try to hide too, but, i like the guy!

Lynnette: somehow i never imagined Salt and Inhale together in the same sentence!

Bill: yeah, Windows Live Messenger came with the laptop, when i started it it wanted to import all my addresses and all, so i let it, next thing i know it send invitations to EVERYONE!

sorry bout that, should have warned all upfront!

i just came back, i was walking between buildings when i something moved in the corner of my eye, first i thought it was a big black rock in front of this building main door, strange, so i moved closer, turns out it was a cat, black and furry, bunched up on itself in the snow.. i wouldn't have noticed if it hadnt moved its tail..
it was well fed, big and clean, apparently a pet that somehow wandered outside, so i went and opened the door and held it open, it gave me a look, then hurried inside towards the warmth.

even if it was a stray, which is something i have not seen in my duration of stay here, at ALL.. even if it was that, at least i know i did what i could. helped it from freezing to death.. let someone kick it out if they want.

i like cats. i really do

Gravatar Well, maybe inhale is too expansive a description, as you don't really breath it all the way in. Just kind of pour it into your nose and then spit it out.
I just told someone else about it today too. She's absolutely miserable, so may try it.

That was a nice thing you did for the cat. House pets aren't used to surviving outside in this kind of weather. You get a gold star for your good deed.

Gravatar Got it was thinkin' maybe ya had a viro....blocked now but can undo if you have the occasion.

Sorry for this but just couldn't resist the (fish in the barrel shoot) Black Cat

Gravatar Hi Anarki,

It seems like with all your computer skills, you ought to be able to get a job at a Swedish computer repair shop even if you can speak Swedish yet.

I heard that Microsoft is about to come out with a whole bunch of updates and bug fixes for Vista. I really don't understand how they could have released such a messed up OS. What was the point anyway? As far as I know, most people were happy with XP, so they just should have upgraded it instead of reinventing the wheel with faulty bearings.

Now, I hear that Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo. Well, I hope they don't. I like Yahoo and would hate to see it messed up!

I hope you are right about Linux taking over the OS world. It would give a lot of third world countries more access to computing. I suppose it is already doing that to some extent.

I didn't know that Shamans had to spit on you to work their magic. You know, its possible that your previous spit exposure gave you the cold that the subsequent spitting was supposed to cure! Anyway, I hope you feel better soon.

I like cats too! Good luck with your cat rescue mission. Somebody in the neighborhood might be missing their big black kitty though. Maybe you can find the cat's humans.
