Perhaps the GOP leadership might start paying a little bit of attention to what bloggers are saying about those matters which are important to them.

You are right in so many ways. The only quibble I have is when you say that they won't care about the access. Vice President Cheney's hunting accident shows that they will, indeed, care if someone scoops them on anything they deem "important" (even if they would only deem so after the fact).
Goodness forbid that a blogger breaks a really big story without any MSM help - watch for them to throw fits and act like the spoiled children they are.
So, let me re-phrase that for you...they won't care until they don't get a story that they might have ignored but now have decided is important (probably because they wanted to use it to damage the administration in some way).
