Gravatar But we must be a free and open society so that no one's civil rights are abused...especially the rights of the terrorists!

Gravatar there's a lot of innuendo here, but have you actually read FOIA? Its a pretty straighforward application of the law: EPIC is entitled to expedited processing.

Gravatar I appreciated that you took time to comment, Actus.

There is alot of innuendo; that was intentional on my part.

Nixon, Carter, and Clinton all engaged in similar activities, except directed at domestic partisan political enemies. Bush has been pretty restrained in using the survellance activities; the focus is narrow, he's checked with Congressional leaders, and it's been renewed every 45 days.

The biggest problem, of course, is he is a Republican president.

My basic point at the end is that regardless of how this turns out, that particular method of locating terrorists has been neutralized.

If we're hit again, guess what? WE go under martial law, and nobody's civil rights will matter for a long, long time.

Gravatar "Nixon, Carter, and Clinton all engaged in similar activities, except directed at domestic partisan political enemies"

Lets FOIA it all.

"The biggest problem, of course, is he is a Republican president. "

What does that have to do with this FOIA request?

"If we're hit again, guess what? WE go under martial law,"

No we don't.

Again. Stick to the facts. EPIC is entitled to expedited processing, and the FOIA law has been around for a long time. No need to go ballistic and use innuendo. That does a disservice to the discourse. Shame on you for using it on purpose.
