There's certain things that are NEVER going to change, and this is one of em, kinda like trying to get a Muslim nation to switch to a Democracy... Some things aren't gonna happen, and NOT knowing that is why I have my doubts about OUR POTUS...

Fred -- the immigration issue is shattering the Republican party, and with good reason. Conservatives are slowly peeling away from Republican politicians. Look around the blogosphere.
Now, the Democrats are unthinkable, too crazy to get a majority. But, they're very good at propaganda, and just as the rest of the country has, the Hispanic marchers see the issue as immigrants -- not illegal immigration. Ergo, I agree; they'll vote Democrat.
In the fall, you're probably right about the Hispanic vote. Also -- while conservatives won't vote for a Democrat, they're likely to stay home.
As far as Islamic countries becoming democracies -- don't know. The results on that one still aren't in. One day I'm a little optimistic, then the next day, I remember that the word "Islam" doesn't mean "freedom." It mean "submission."
I wonder if they checked to make sure the people they were registering were actually legal citizens? (or did they even care?)
Big bingo, Ann. In alot of states, drivers liscenses are used for voters' ID ... which makes me wonder about the big push to keep illegals supplied with drivers' liscenses in places like California, etc.
