I was so happy to read that article. I think it is fine to have the investigation, and roast anyone that is found guilty... if found guilty!

The sad part is that the people are invested in making the initial story, or the story from terrorist true, so no matter the result of the investigation there are two possible results:

1) They are found guilty and suffer the consequences. And that will lead to these people saying they did not go far enough and get all involved, including the SECDEF and POTUS.

A crock, but it will be the new battle call.

2) They are found innocent, and these people will contend that justice was never done. They were only covering up the actual event and the alleged cover-up. In order to protect... well you know who.

In their circles it is done, there is no reason for an investigation. The conclusion has been written in stone.

Now for the rest of us. If the alleged event is proven true I think all of us want them held to task for their actions.

If proven innocent, I want it thrown in all the people's faces that said they were guilty from the story based on one or two early accounts, some from damn terrorists.

Gravatar MD I have to agree with you. I just keep getting madder and madder, at the lies and innuendo's

Let's see what the investigation yeilds, but looks to me that the deaths were part of war.

But, see, here's the thing. Every reporter is just dying to be Woodward and Bernstein. They are scrambling to prove something like Rumsfield called up the sargent in the middle of the night, putting him up to whack some civilians ... at Bush's request. US Dems are hoping gleefully for the same thing. THey tried this with Gitmo, Abu Gharib, Plamegame ... and now this.

Who cares if a few Marines lives get ruined in the process, for the glory of re-doing Watergate, huh?

And yah -- let's do hold those spreading lies and innuendo's accountable. You know,Michael "Flush the Koran" Isikoff still has a job -- and this whopper goes waaayyy beyond that one.

The question is how. Any ideas?
