Of course it's political and we can thank John Murtha and John Kerry for this crap.

bah! I remember this story. The only "evidence" is testimony by the "victim's" family that he was a good man that Marines tried to frame as an insurgent.
So let's see: the testimony of a suspected insurgent's family after he is dead, or the word of our Marines...
what a load of b.s. We're handing the insurgency tools to hurt us with if we give every cock-and-bull story this much credence. And our major media outlets are doing their best.
Today in the Star Telegram, you can find two op-eds side by side about Haditha, both of which go on the assumption that everything Time reported is true.

WHOA! I just figured out the new strategy. So subtle I missed it until reading this piece and comments, on top of so many like it in recent weeks.
They cannot get enough pressure to force the President to withdraw the troops, and cut and run from our mission. How else can they end the war…
ARREST ALL OUR TROOPS. If they are all in jail then there is no more war. Fantastic. We are seeing what we knew would be attempted come true. The terrorists cannot beat us on the battlefield, but as usual they know they can get the left to fold. As always known, if we “lose” the war on terror it will be the casualty of politics… not bad troops, intel, or effort.

Anna -- you bet your bippy it's political, and it's disgusting. Problem is, the rest of the world doesn't know that it has to do with US internal election partisan ship. They're buying it, I think.
Joe -- Bingo. Look it's like this: Suppose you know two guys. One has lied to you every day of his life, you check the sky if he says it's raining. The other one has always been sound as a dollar. Suppose the two fellows are in a store together, something gets stolen, and the liar starts accusing the reliable one of ripping the store off.
Who are you going to give the benefit of the doubt to -- at least, before the store security tapes get viewed?
MD -- Heh! Hey, I think you're onto something "Stop the War -- Bust the Troops!" You should post that at the DailyKos -- you'll attract a real following, maybe become a Howard Dean advisor
