Drew doesn't fool me one bit. He is a master manipulator and an abuser. I dated a guy just like him, happy and outgoing in public and mean and controlling in private. They use their intelligence for "evil",being able to fool their family, friends and even law inforcement. And a man who dates way younger than himself is a huge red flag that he's a total mess!

I think there are some other things that need to go into detail. Drew reported that he went to the friend's house/neighbor of that of his third wife because he was concerned. He also said that he got a locksmith to get in. But that HE did not enter her house (because of accusations that he was always stealing stuff).

Why, if he was concerned about his wife did he go to the neighbor, and not to her house directly? Instead he went to the neighbor got her riled up and says he suggested "going in the next day", but the neighbor/friend insisted to go over there that night because she was so upset. At the point you would either assume, she's not home, or she's in the house and dead they called a locksmith. And at this point he doesn't go in because he's concerned because "Kathy was always accusing me of stuff." He's not concerned that she would be upset that he hired a locksmith to get into her house, he's not concerned to get the neighbor to come over to check on her, but he's so concerned of what she might think that he doesn't actually enter the house?! Notice how he got agitated and cut Matt off when Matt persisted? Sounds to me he staged it so that someone else would find the body and that he could still control the situation. He wasn't alarmed that it could have been a homicide when there was no water in the tub? He was an officer, one of the first people on the site, and it's his wife that he is so worried about to get the neighbor involved, yet he thinks it was a waste of time to exhume her body when her death was ruled a drowning with no water in the tub?

He said that he "had not seen Kathy for a couple of days, which was very unlike her to not be seen (and then he throws in)or heard from." He has a history of stalking reported by the other wives. Little Freudian slip ups sometimes let a little more of the truth slip out than intended. If I was making a comment like this I would have said "I was concerned because usually she calls, but I hadn't heard from her or seen her around, she didn't mention going out of town, yadda, yadda." The way he states it sounds like they did not have any communication other than him watching her.

He is constantly deflecting a classic abuser trait, it's always their fault.

His lawyers supposedly tell him not to talk to the police, he is upset with the media, yet he seeks out the media attention! Geraldo? Come on! You know you are seeking attention then! The lawyers didn't mention if you aren't going to cooperate with the police, you should probably shut your mouth in front of a camera too?

When he has that disgusting plug for help for a lawyer he says, "let me know what you can do for me." Again so self-centered. What can you do for me? All he's ever concerned about is getting busted. He think the only pressure is coming from the media, if they went away it would be smooth sailing. He says how much it would cost to represent him in TWO cases? Why does he jump to that assumption when they only exhumed the body the day before and he believes it's a waste of time? Also when he's asked if he would view himself guilty if sitting on the outside he doesn't actually answer the question, he says he's guilty in the media. Is that a passive admittance or does he truly believe if not for the media he would be free from all accusations?

He then suggested that the family of Stacy was being manipulated and led by the media, and suggest that he himself has been victimization of the same thing, leading the way that he is only guilty by media and perhaps if he does enough interviews he would change their mind. Like towards the end he tries to paint a different picture of "who he really is." The media, the one thing he hasn't been able to manipulate?

When asked if there is anything he had to offer that he is innocent, he HAD NO ANSWER!

What stood out to me the most was when he was talking about the one-up relationship with his ex. "always trying to out do each other with different things. Who was smarter, who was stronger that type of thing." Who competes with their wife on who is stronger? What? And the whole time he just smirks like I guess I was the one that finally proved that!

And when he said "Stacy is where she wants to be" I heard him saying "Stacy is where she DESERVES to be." His tone almost says that it was like she knew the alternative. Me or death.

Then he laughs at the very end when he says to Stacy come home. He attempts to look in the camera, but doesn't.

Why would a man in his 50s date someone in their early 20s, both women have unhealthy backgrounds, he himself admits that in the beginning it was romantic, typical of any abuser. Control factors. He is a preditor. I agree, when asked about what attracted him to the women he just talked about Kathy. She was fun, fun, fun, fun, fun. Then his tone changes hormones, menstrual cycle, kids, emotions. I think that was his trigger. He seemed fond of Kathy though, almost a remorse, not that she was gone, but the fun ended.

Also, in other reports he kept in contact with his second wife all this time who is still terrified of him to this day. His step daughter claimed that her mother reported that he would just pop up. He contacted her and said that this all may come out as a hush hush thing.

The arrogance that he expects us all to buy that his wife up and left, and he just passively dismisses or avoids altogether anyone or anything that suggest otherwise, laughing all the while! His wife has tv, she, the man she supposedly was having an affair, no ONE has come and said I've seen her alive, hasn't checked on the kids, nothing?

I'm surprised the public hasn't lynched this guy. It's sickening

New Poster,

I am a full supporter of discussions, sharing of thoughts, ideas and suggestions. When people refuse to do so, that is when injustice prevails.

Freedom of speech only helps the truth come out.

It does not matter how much the media thinks he is guilty. The man is innocent until proven guilty.

If the media continues to focus on these cases, it will be impossible for our Jury System to function properly.

The media has been WRONG many, many times, and many lives have been destroyed.

I refuse to take part in anything which even REMOTELY resembles a lynchmob, either real or electronic.

Of course he's guilty. Luckily there is no statute of limitations upon murder. We can only hope that eventually he wil see the inside of the worst jail in the US. Also, Drew Peterson is making the usual mistake in the assumption that technology stands still. Law enforcement will never stop searching for ways to convict this man. Too bad the show Dexter isn't real.

There are rather quite a few shreds of evidence against this monster. He's been married 4times so it's obvious he can't commit. He's abused previous wives and girlfriends. He's hoarded money to keep his ex's from gettng any. 2+2=4 therefore he killed Kathleen so she would not get 1/2 of his retirement in alimony. Look @ his possessions. This guy has most likely taken money found when arresting people and put it in his own pockets. Cops all over the world do this. It's a source of income. Nobody is watching and these type cops are on the honor system which they dishonor. If Stacy told people she was afraid of him, hey, what else do you want? He knows, just like OJ knows, just like Scott Peterson knows, just like Cpl. Lauren knows. Are you a wife killer too?

I actually don't live all too far from the Peterson's home. I live on the Northwest side of Chicago.

I understand that this has become a National story over the course of a couple months, but many people in different States actually don't see even half of the news stories related to Stacy and Drew Peterson.

At least once a week, there is a new story going around the local news stations about Drew or Stacy, and many of them don't make FOX News, MSNBC, or CNN.

The general feeling for the people living here in the Northern part of Illinois points to Drew more than likely killing, and hiding the body of his last wife, Stacy.

Even worse, the way that Drew carries himself is very pompous and arrogant. He has not once joined a search party for his missing wife.

If all of our suspicions are correct, he will definitely have what is coming to him!

I think he needs to hook up with Mary Winkler and utilize her attorneys. They would get him off any charges and then he and Mary could go at it.

Seriously, I think your analysis is very good.

Waterboard his Smug Ass, Then we will know everything in about 20 Seconds!!

Great analysis! This guy literally makes my skin crawl. I don't think I have ever seen anyone so arrogant. What makes no sense to me is why anyone would believe Stacy went off with another man. If she had Drew would certainly know where she was every moment and who she was with. According to friends, neighbors and relatives, he tracked her at all times, suddenly he stopped the day she disappears? I pray for the sake of her children and her family that Stacy is found soon and Drew is put where he belongs and can't hurt anyone else!

Just found this site and think your analysis was spot on.

Knowing that Matt Lauer is a professed germaphobe, I bet he had to shower in Purell after that interview.

Very good analysis there. I cannot agree more or add more. During another interview when DP was asked about his wife's possible whereabouts, he responded with his smirk, "IT is not here!". IT???

You are correct, he is a psychopath. They do not have any feelings. It is like Novocain effect on his brain. A sociopath does not attack his family but a psychopath does.

The third wife's murder raises questions about the Bollingbrook PD being complicit with DP. Cops protect other cops.

I think that he had another bad cop help him in Stacey's murder. Also, the cops know how to destroy the DNA which is somewhat "easy" than we think. All it takes is Muriatic acid that you can buy at a hardware store.

Finally, they need not have the body to convict him. They do have one body already. But, they can convict him on Stacey's case on ample circumstantial evidence.

They need to find the guy who helped him to load the blue barrel.
Best,
mkk

I'm so sick of reading all the comments by wannabe detectives and phony psychic idiots regarding the Stacy Peterson case. It's amazing to read all the * hater women * bashing Drew Peterson and accusing him of being involved in his wife's disappearance. You're all haters who don't like the man because he was unfaithful to women and is a bit of a player. Do ANY of you know him? NOPE! Get a life. Get out from behind your keyboards and go look for the woman instead of bashing Drew Peterson.

Analyze this: there isn't ONE SHRED OF PROOF that Drew Peterson had anything to do with this. NOT ONE, after weeks of investigations. You all comment about how you can't believe this and can't believe that. That's because Drew's is innocent. *Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.* Remember what a great country we live in. You all are playing Kangaroo Court and have convicted the man without any proof of your allegations. Get off your lazy ass's and go search for Stacy Peterson. All this hate is consuming you.

And to the woman who runs this goofy website. Pulllease... You can tell what kind of person someone is by looking at them? OMG. You really believe that>? LOL. So you're the only one on this Earth that can judge a book by its cover huh? You're going to look pretty stupid when they find Stacy Peterson and prove DREW PETERSON HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS WIFE'S DISAPPEARANCE.

Wow! He can't stay away from the cameras!

This was one of many interviews Drew did yesterday. However, it is one that was spontaneous and w/o his attorney. It's interesting in that he actually flirts with one of the press. Could you analyze this interview? I believe "controled" interviews are less revealing don't you? Here's the link:

http://cbs2chicago.com/video/? id...bbm.dayport.com

please analyze the newest interview

let me rephrase this. When he said that, he might as well have confessed. It was just odd him saying it the way he did.

I agree he won't confess. No way, but as for him being a professional liar, I don't think he is that good at it.

He flagged me right away when he said "I think she is not missing." People don't talk like that normally - but I didn't want to judge him then on one element only.

I've heard he is a pilot and that he flew near the time she disappeared. Makes sense that he could take off -- and dump her body somewhere very remote. It explains why he is so secure and smug!

If you all would like me to review the 2nd Peterson interview and share with you what I saw, I will do so -- just let me know. If I get at least 5 responses -- I will do it tomorrow

Robin M

It was a strange way to put it. I remember him saying that. But that's how a narcissist says things matter-of- factly. Very cold and does send a shiver. He will not confess, that you can be sure of. No matter what evidence appears he will go to his grave denying and responsibility.

"Drew was an undercover cop...(ie) he lied for a living. In fact probably had professional training in it.
Thanks for the Great Post!"

Rhonda,
I was thinking that also, that he is a Professional Liar.

Did anyone feel that he confessed, when he was ready to go to jail, because his children would be taken care of? It chilled to the bone. My gut told me right then she had met the same fate as his 3rd wife.

This morning on America's most Wanted they were saying that his best friend has now turned on him and is now helping the police. I believe is name is Ric Mims or something to that affect and Ric says that He believes she was dead a while before Sunday night-- maybe even Saturday night and that Peterson did go to his plane on Sunday to do some decale work on the aircraft. He says He may have taken Stacy and disposed of the body faraway from the Bolingbrook area. Anyone with any updates on this? Does Peterson have a plane and have the police seized this aircraft?

Yes Rhonda
I agree that Peterson's training as an undercover cop does help him with his demeanor-- I think he is a very cool
and confident liar because of this.

maggie

Hello Eyes

I love your blog. Did you see Petersons second interview with Lauer this morning (Monday am) -- what did you think of the questions he did answer and how he was trying to act concerned about Stacy's health and wellfare? Does anyone have any thoughts on this latest interview?

Drew was an undercover cop...(ie) he lied for a living. In fact probably had professional training in it.
Thanks for the Great Post!

Minnesota,

I looked quickly for an article and found this: http://www.rd.com/content/are-me...en-more-honest/

Joe,

I am sure Drew Peterson could offer to take a lie detector test, but we probably would have heard about that if he did.

As for being asked and refusing, I am unable to find any reference to it-- but I doubt it would be publicized.

Drew being an ex-cop, he likely knows to avoid it at all costs. And frankly, I WOULD NOT take one myself. I don't believe they are accurate enough, personally.

I want to know if Drew has refused to take a lie detector test. No one seems to want to ask him that question. I understand Matt is interviewing him again on Monday, hopefully he will ask him that.

Thank you for your insight. I have to agree and I have experienced the latter, that being the power play scenario.

Lying can become habit, be manipulative device, be habitual, destructive to both liar and those he lies to. Some say they lie so as not to hurt others, but in the end, lies are always told to protect yourself. I try not to lie, I make an effort not to. But I am guilty of telling a lie to spare someone's feelings, I think we all are.

Statistically, is there any study that has determined whether men lie more than women?

Thanks again and Happy Thanksgiving to you and all!

Hi Minnesota,

Thanks for sharing a little about yourself.

As to why people, when asked a question in an emotional state of confrontation don't answer, I can only guess it is because they have no answer and can't face the truth so they try to avoid it and hope it goes away.

Other times, I've seen it employed as a power play. By watching the response of the questioner after ignoring a question, the deceiver can determine how far he can push the envelope and twist the blame back around. It's quite evil!

And yes, deceivers hate to be cornered. It is the one who hates to be cornered the most who is usually the worst offender/manipulator.

Perhaps you are right. May I tell you how I have come to possess this "sense"? I have had too many people lie to me. I learned through life's lessons. I can sense when someone is not telling the truth and sometimes I elect to let that person "think" he has deceived and there the old saying, "Give him enough rope and he will hang himself" applies. I do not get delight from this strategy at all. Other times, I will confront the liar. But, for the most part Liars do not want to admit their lies, even with physical proof in front of them. Those are the narcissist and those are the ones I try to avoid. I did not have any "gift" of insight, it was acquired as one of life's lessons. Unfortunately, along with the insight I have many emotional scars. I trust people until they give reason not to.

Another give away to Drew Peterson was his statements to the following questions:

Mr. PETERSON: She came from an abusive home life growing up. She had abusive stepparents. At first it was very romantic and, again, after she had children, hormones kicked in and, again, an emotional roller coaster with her. But our relationship was always a one-upmanship relationship. We were always trying to basically outdo each other with different things. Who was smarter, who was stronger, that type of thing.

LAUER: So you describe both of these women, Kathy and Stacy, as having emotional problems?

Mr. PETERSON: Yes, both of them.

LAUER: Both troubled?

Mr. PETERSON: Both came from troubled homes.

LAUER: Both dealing with depression at some point or another?

Mr. PETERSON: Yes.

LAUER: So what drew you to these women?

Mr. PETERSON: Both women were very beautiful, very exciting when I first met them. Kathy was a lot of fun when I first met her. She was good to my kids. Kids from a prior marriage. We went to fun places. We went out to dinner.

We saw shows and we did a lot of fun things together and she was a lot of fun. Very beautiful woman.

I am unsure of Kathleen's age but I would not call Stacy a "woman" at 17. He preys on people's weaknesses to gain control. When the women in his relationships start to wise up on is manipulating ways and begin to question his directives, he realizes he is loosing control and it's "time to move on". I believe he mentioned how he and Kathleen had come to the point of actually challenging each others intelligence. What a red flag that was!

Thought I feel Drew murdered Stacy, I found it so typical of a narcissist to be unable to admit anyone would leave THEM, his comment was, "I said she found someone".

May I ask you a question? In your experience, please explain what deceit is at play when a person is asked a question (in an emotional state of confrontation) and that person does not answer?

Thank you for your reply, I will look forward to your next blog and possibly another personal response.

Minnesota,

I agree your summary is on the nose, and yes this case does involve common sense. Polls show 87% of people see Peterson is lying. It didn't take a "lie detector" to see it. I agree wholeheartedly.

Other cases, this is not so -- like with the McCanns. 70% of people polled believe the McCanns are lying. I disagree and I have from day one.

The reason people come to my blog is (a) to see if they see things like I do, (b) to see what behaviors, actions and expressions clue me in that someone is being deceptive. Hence, that is why I broke down Peterson's interview into detail.

Scientists estimate that one out of every thousand people may have my ability to spot deception, and for these people (maybe you are one?) -- what I do seems like plain old common sense because reading people, emotions and behaviors comes as a second nature to us. To us, it is common sense -- but clearly it is not "common".

Agreed enlightenme. I refer you to the following cases for reference on the common sense issue: Michael Jackson, Phil Spector, and O J Simpson. You and I see common sense but when jury instructions are given, i.e. reasonable doubt, common sense sometimes flies out the window! And remember IF he is taken to trial there only needs to be ONE juror that can't make that leap of common sense. Go figure!

There is nothing wrong with circumstantial evidence. Most cases are based on mostly, if not all, CE. And MOST people still have common sense, I hope!

You could have summed this interview up very easily...he is a narcissist.

Proving his guilt will be next to impossible. Circumstantial at most and he knows it. He's enjoying all the attention.

Sometimes good old common sense can be used as a "lie detector".

Today I see the new autopsy done by forensic expert Dr. Michael Baden states the 3rd wife's death was a homicide. If the hammerhead cop didn't love her why didn't he simply divorce her instead of securing his destiny in hell with satan by murdering her? And he most likely murdered his 4th wife.

It's notable.

BCB -- I saw that today and wondered if I should blog about it?

Any opinions on that? Do people want story updates here --or strictly my opinions on people?

The second wife has come forward to say Drew used to tell her, "I could kill you and make it look like an accident".

Come on, this guy is clearly guilty of Stacy's disappearance and Savio's death. He was abusive towards his second wife. If I were a betting woman I would say that there is probably other women whom will come out of the woodwork and attest to what a vile human being he is. Drew Peterson believed and still believes he is above the law. I just want to say there is a funny smell coming from your direction and the law enforcement agency who protected you. This man needs to be erased from society. He preyed on a 17 yr. old girl while he was in an authortive position. He started the relationship being in an illegal postiton and it ended in a major illegal way. Send him the gates of hell where he belongs.

Eyes,
great job!

I have been lurking and blogmenting over at foxnews and linked your site from Greta's (on the record). Doctor Baden, if you didn't hear yet, just declared the death of Kathy Savio a murder/homicide in his independant autopsy for the family of Savio.

Again, great job as always.

Notice when DP talks about the media is ruining his life and he wants them to back off....well, I have one question for him...why are you on the Today show complaining about the media?????

I've written about the case here:
http://eyesforlies.blogspot.com/...aige% 20Birgfeld

There are two posts on the case.

Unfortunately, there are so many many missing young women and young moms. Can you give any inside thoughts on Paige Birgfeld, mother to 3 small children, who has been missing since June 28?

You are sure on the ball on this one. I agree 110% with you on this guy. When he said "she is where she wants to be" it just got me. I took from that he meant she had a choice to be hear with him or dead. He probably said if you leave I will kill you she sill said she was leaving so he had to kill her.
When he told her to "come home" he laughed because he thought it was funny to be talking to a dead person.
I LOVE THIS WEBSITE..Thank You

Excellent observation!
Drew Peterson thought he was so smart. He should have at least done some practice on acting. His plea for her to "come home" was without eye contact to the camera. The body language told it all.

I had almost the same thoughts as you when I watched the interview. But, the clincher for me that this man is an out-and-out liar was when he spoke directly to Stacy. He actually laughed, and, as you said, the ridiculousness of talking to a dead person must have struck him right then.

Another excellent job of analysis. I always look forward to reading your thoughts and teaching me how to look at these types of interviews with a critical eye and ear.

I hope you can teach a course or two on TV sometime, and make some real money from your skills. They are very valuable.

The arrogance and inappropriate affect of this guy, Drew stood out for all to see. He really hurt himself with his interviews over the past few days. He is so arrogant he wouldn't follow an attorney's advice to stop talking, because he thinks he knows better than attorneys, better than anyone! The comment about facing the death penalty was totally weird !! I have never seen anyone in the world say anything like that before they are ever charged and tried!.

Dude's a walking subconscious confession. Scott Peterson feigned grief, and supported the search. O.J. fled and disguised, which signals guilt. DP said:

"...She never told me she was seeing another man.."

"...Based on the media coverage, I am as guilty as they come..."

"......I can go in peace if that happens..."

'..."She is where she wants to be." ..'

Thinks he's smooth and outsmarting, but he soooo isn't.

You're awesome Eyes and you have characterized Drew Peterson EXACTLY as he is. I watched the interview and read the transcript here...
http://www.suntimes.com/news/ met...t111407.article

This statment below, by DP, really makes me sick to my stomach.

"I'm - I've been a jokester all my life. And it's just like now that they're seeing this serious person in deep trouble, and this isn't me."

He KNOWS he is in deep trouble...he said it himself.

Great job Eyes! I learn so much from you.

You nailed it. Have you ever been approached to appear on MSNBC or CNN as a guest or analyst (because you have the goods, sister).

BCB

This is the best analysis of the interview that I have seen or heard..ANYWHERE.
Very, very informative.
Thanks and God Bless You!

I've become addicted to this site. Now every time 48 Hrs Mystery, or 20/20, or the news has something, I run here to check what you have to say about it!

Beautiful work!!! I think you have him pegged to the max! Great job, keep it up! Rhonda

Amazing, just amazing. You are spot on. I especially could not get over the bright yellow tie? What are your thoughts, he certainly was arrogant and just infringed on every space he could while sitting in that chair. I thought ML was about to throw up on DP shoes.

Excellent narrative. Reminiscent of OJ and Scott Peterson. Could Drew & Scott be related on some other plane? Ironic that the names are so similar Stacy & Laci and the husbands are such con men.

You have done a brilliant job of analyzing Drew during the interview! Looking at his calm demeanor it made me question for a few seconds if he could be telling the truth. It is chilling to watch. What stood out for me was when Matt asked him if he was cooperating with the police and he said he "Yes". Then went on to say he told them the "story" about what happened. Yes he said the word "story". If someone was telling the truth would they refer to it as a "story"?
