is she saying that the japanese women are staying single because they want to, in the end, wear the pants in the society? I didn't see any of that in the article!
the article says Among oft-cited reasons for the falling birthrate are higher education levels, changing attitudes towards marriage and individual freedom, the high financial burden of childrearing, and the hardships involved for working women given long hours on the job and a persistent dearth of daycare.
me no see any issues of gender equality, so the writer fell off the track when she typed the first letter in her article.
