The Office Suggestion Box

Gravatar Gah! Baby haters suck. So because we have kids we should never bring them in public until they are 18? What do people expect?

Take heart, things do get better. I too despaired of ever going out with a todler, and thing will get better sooner or later.

Gravatar It is a phase, ten years sounds like a good number - just kiddin'! My son is 5.5, and it is better, though
going to dinner without him is always easier! My daughter is 2.5, and inpossible. She's sick too, even eating with teenagers at a youth camp in the cafeteria was dreadful - and the teens don't even care about noise level!!!

Gravatar Things get better Amanda, I promise! Just lay down a firm ground and she will just have to learn. Amber did and still is.

Gravatar Give Julia Goolia a big smooch for me and Isabella!

Don't you realize that your child is just too damn smart and wants to explore?!!? I know this is just a phase - you'll be eating out again in no time!

Gravatar Hi Amanda,
I always try to avoid unrealistic expectations. If your child has had no nap then don't even try to go out for dinner with her. Good intentions and wishful thinking will not get you a hot meal from a restaurant, that's for sure.Either go early (that's 4:30pm or so) or get a babysitter and really have fun!
It gets better if you have strict rules that you stick to. Some parents look clueless when their kids are running around the restaurant and screaming. I have always made strict rules and they never change.Lillianna has always obeyed them and she is great to go out with.
Good luck!

Gravatar it ends once you find out you are pregnant again! lol... then you start all over! We go to places like Red Robin and IHOP to avoid the stares/glares from other patrons...

Gravatar I know what you mean about eating in restaurants. What we TRY to do is go to places that are casual (like Olive Garden, Chili's). We also tend to go early so as not to disturb the people who are out on "dates".
