I had really thick hair when i was younger too and my mom used to do the same thing when i was younger as yours did. The funny thing about it was when i got pregenat, i wanted a girl, i prayed for a girl. What did i get? a boy, now as sad as it sounds i'm kind of glad. even though i still want a girl.
i had your hair, that laura ingalls thing, when i was a kid, too!
my boy has been picky about what he wears for a long time, now, so it's not just a girl thing.
Amber hates me doing her hair too Amanda. I hardly get the chance to make it pretty..she usually brushes it in the morning before school and goes. By the time we get to school it is a mess again. LOL. I am very tempted to cut hers.
I have the same problem with Gabriella. She HATES me doing her hair. And it's worse because she's gotten in this bad habit of twisting her hair, so she twists knots into it.
We went through the outfit thing until I got smart and started giving her a choice. "You can wear this one or this one - which would you like?" She still gets to choose, but it's just easier.
My son (although he's only 19 months) is so much easier. His hair is so short I don't even have to comb it.
My mom always kept my hair above my shoulders... I don't remember her braiding my hair or putting it up in anyway (though she said she did it once in awhile). But my scalp is very sensitive so any sort of hair pulling hurts it.. because I grew up not doing anything with my own hair either. So now I have no idea how to put up Faith's hair nicely, nor does she let me try. I remember wishing I had longer hair when I was little so I want to let her have long hair, but I'm not sure how to take care of it from there. I mean, it becomes harder at night if you wash their hair soon before bedtime right? Because you have to worry about blow drying and everything?
I have the same problem with my 4 year old! She hates having her hair brushed, and I'm considering cutting it but don't want to because of her curls! The detangling spray works really well if you soak the hair first though. Have a great weekend!
