I did this once too. Getting everything back from my CDs was easy, if somewhat time consuming, but the ones I had purchased from iTunes were another story. I finally sent iTunes an email explaining that my computer had locked up and I had to reformat without being able to back up my files first (this was true), and was there any way they could allow me to redownload what I had purchased. I got a slight scolding from them, but they let me do it - the next time I logged into iTunes, it started redownloading everything. You might try emailing them. They say they don't allow it, but they did in my case. Good luck!

That happened to me with my Palm Pilot back in 1998. It just felt so hopeless trying to get all the information back into it, that I eventually stopped using it. Then a few years later, I bought a newer PDA thinking I would be better this time and actually backup my stuff...but the syncing just wasn't something I'm good at...I would have hate to lose stuff that cost me money to put in though!
