My son has this little pillow since he was 4 months old. We've been to hell and back with that thing. We lost it at the mall and found it in the trash after 4 hours. He's gotten bit in the face twice for it at preschool. Unfortunately, we don't have a back up.

I don't recall ever having a lovey, however my son had this babyblanket (it was actually quited and it folded and zipped up kind of like a baby sleeping bag), that I used to wrap him in when he was a baby. When he got to be a toddler he had to have it everywhere he went. It finally got so worn out it looked like something you would find in a dumpster behind a homeless shelter, at the end it was so worn, I was afraid to wash it for fear it would completely disintegrate.

First, "Baby" is very, very cute!
I didn't have a lovey of any sort, and neither did my sons. I hope we didn't miss out on something!!

Faith loves her "Philly".. a stuffed monkey from build-a-bear that my friends in Philadephia got for her. She needs it for all her naps (unless she's napping in the car) and for bedtime. She needs it to cuddle while watching TV sometimes too and plays pretend games with it in the house. We discourage bringing Philly out of the house. I don't know what we would do if we ever lost him... so it's a good thing my mom, who is visiting us right now, decided today to buy a second Philly from our local build-a-bear store so that we have a backup. Faith watched as that Philly came to life and accepted him right away.

The only "constant" thing my daughter seems to need is a particular blanket that we received at a baby shower. It's a fuzzy blanket with the sky and clouds. I believe it's from Target! Anyway, she HAS to have this in her bed when she sleeps. She likes to rub her face against it when she's anxious. Oftentimes, I'll find it drapped across her chest in the morning.

OMG! Thankfully neither of my children were attached to anything. Wait that not true. My daughter (now 2yrs old) is attatched to me. I can't even go to the bathroom for the love of God. This child of mine absolutely loses it and will not go to sleep unless I am there to personally go through the "routine" with her. I thought I would never get her to stop breast feeding. Luckily she can't lose me. *ROFL*

My daughter has a Pooh Bear that she sleeps with. She's not too attached to it though.
What she seems to be getting really attached to is her new baby doll. Poor little "Emily" gets dragged around by the arm everywhere. My daughter has even tried to feed her girl scout cookies (can you say thin mint all over her clothes and face?).

I don't remember about me and my son doesn't really have anything yet, But my cousin whose 13 now had a blanket, it was big and then it ended up so worn my aunt had to cut it into two strips which ended up two balls. She stopped carring it around at age 11, two years ago. We called it stinky and I guess she smelled it to go to sleep.

In my house we have Boo Bear, my daughter loves him. I bought another in case this is the one we are attached to forever.
My son just likes to have a "woobie" when he is tired or sick.

Awww, that is so sweet! I had a blanket when I was little. I slept with it forever, although it also wasn't a live or die kind of thing. (In fact I still have that blanket packed away somewhere.)
My son hasn't attached himself to anything like this. He does have a favorite "friend" - his teletubbie. (LaLa), but he doesn't cuddle with it at night or "need" it.
My daughter has a blanket that I made for her. It's flannel on one side, and satin on the other. She calls it her "mimette", and she does sleep with it (along with 34,202 other things). If we are ever lacking the mimette for one reason or another she can live without it. She also plays with her hair when she's tired, and sucks her fingers, so in a desperate situation as long as she has her hair, she's okay. (Mimette is always the first choice, though.)
