Things are definitely different at 3. In some ways it's easier, and in some ways it's harder. I've actually found that the attitude gets a bit worse at 3 than it does at 2. At 2 it's more of an "I can't express what I'm feeling yet" attitude whereas at 3 and 4 it's a "I know what I want but I don't know why you won't give it to me!" attitude. :D

Somehow my husband and I make all our big purchases in life on impulse. It works for us, but I understand what you mean. If you were both having knots over it, and now you feel relieved, then I'm sure you did the right thing.
It will get better. (Although I don't know when - I'm still in the middle of it.

Glad to hear that you both agreed that it was an impulse buy. I hate those. I hate the guilt I feel when I realized I made a mistake. Good that you were able to back out though.
As for your daughter.... can we make it a buy one get one free? I'll even cover the shipping.

I can totally relate with the toddler phase. My daughter is going on 3 as well and she is defs into pushing those limits as MUCH as possible. Granted she is cute when she does it but still... tiring too. My Mother-in-law has this crazy trick that seems to work when in a store and Hunter is ready to throw a tantrum or touch things she shouldn't. She says 'oh my goodness look at that huge elephant over there sitting on that table, it just BROKE the table'! She really gets into it and acts shocked and my daughter has no choice but to look around for this crazy elephant and see what in the world happened. She even came home and told me what color the elephant was and all about how it broke the table and she saw it. I'm a sucker for the imagination and so this kind of struck me as funny weird. Whatever works right?

I can tell you it does get better, but it also gets worse. I've helped raise my brother and sister from infants and now they are 8 & almost 10. Some days the only way to explain it is pure heck. This goes double for my sister. She thinks she's the boss most of the time. I continue to "put her in her place" but so far we are still going the rounds.
I confess though, these days I don't have the patience to handle her. My hormones are enough for me to try and handle. My hope is when we finally move she'll mellow out.
As for the house, it sounds like you made the best choice. We just listed ours on the market and I'm already feeling sick with pressure. I need it to sell fast for my sanity. Good luck with your home improvements!
BTW, just found your blog and I'm loving it!
Ashley.

Things will get better when she turns 3. (yeah, that's the ticket!)
It's really a roller coaster with kids! She's testing her limits with you, so stick to your guns! Good luck! (I've got 2 sons, ages are 19 and 7. I've seen almost everything!)

Hubby gets embarrassed that I sometimes make our 5 year old sit in the stroller at the mall. Why should I give a shit if it keeps him from running wild and touching (or breaking) things? If he still agrees to it, then so do I! It will get better,Amanda, I promise.
