i was on it for a bit to check and see how i did with progesterone before I went on the depo provera shot. (this ws all a long time ago now - pre mommy days.) i did the shot to stop my migraines and I couldn't take estrogen with my migraines.
The shot was great in that it stopped my cycle and thus my migraines. but it sucked in that i gained ten pounds- slowly but surely - and got acne. SOOO i am done with that! Fortunately my migraines did not return with the same intensity after it. (I was on it for a few years)
No pills for me now though - I am done with messing aroudn with my hormones. good luck though - the mini pill was really quite easy on me. you probably wont have a problem.

I was never able to take any pill that didn't make me crazy. Hope it works for you though.

I've been on the mini pill for about 5 years now and have never had a problem with it. Ironically, I was put on it because the combined pill (the oestrogen one) made me crazy. Oh well, whatever works. You do need to make sure you take it at at roughly the same time each day (+/-3 hours) for it to be most effective, but I'm sure the doc told you that...

I took it very briefly..it completely dried up my supply (which was the end of my short 4-mo breastfeeding career) and I second the whole "same-time0=-of-day" comment..You must be good about taking it at the same time.. Regular birth control pills don't tend to be too strict about that but the mini-pill is. I don't remember feeling different though. I do think that if you aren't breastfeeding that it may NOT be as reliable as the regular pill. Did you doctor mention that at all? Cuz I'd be curious to know about that. Good luck!

makes you crazy? that is new to me. maybe that explains a lot...
although a lot of women take it right after they give birth when they are nursing. and that is when a lot of women have Post partum depression so maybe it is just association.
all i can say is that I couldn't take the regular pill and I took the prog. only pill and ( i think ) i was fine. although i had PPD i think it was due to me having a baby!
I'd be curious to hear what you have heard. this is new to me, i really didn't know it could make you "crazy".

I have never been on the pill but I have used Arbones progesterone cream and loved it... It is supposed to be very good for you in many ways.

That's the pill you gotta take for birth control when you're breastfeeding. I took it the whole time I was breastfeeding Mika .. I didn't feel any different than normal. Now I'm on the regular pills and I didn't feel a change in myself except that now I have the visitor every month whereas I didn't have that before. Not sure if I didn't have it because of my own body reacting to breastfeeding or because that's the way the pill works.

I was on it for a month (then my health insurance ran out, so no more). I didn't have any problems whatsoever. I was probably a little moodier than usual, but nothing I would describe as crazy (my husband might disagree). I would compare it to general PMS moodiness, but I didn't have it all the time. Give it a try. If you start to feel like you're going crazy, just stop taking it and try something else.
