I think you and I could be best friends or sisters! Our lives (and daughters) are so similar. I just read your post about Julia's allergy testing. Kellynn had it done when she was around 18 months old. My husband and I had to hold her down for the testing. Ouch! She too, is allergic to most things under the sun (mold, pollen from trees and weeds, dust, dogs - but not cats, etc). My doctor suggested she take Singulair. It's actually an asthma medication, but it keeps K-Bugg from getting respiratory problems she is prone to from her allergies. Good luck with the Claritin.

i remember getting that as a kid on my back... wasn't too bad except the one-at-a-time prick test i did as a teen on my arms! that was awful.
to be honest, i really feel like shots for a little kid are unnecessary unless there is a real asthma danger. my son gets prescription nasal spray which is a steroid (but is non-systemic - it works locally, doesn't go in bloodstream which is great) and that works great. I use something similiar and so does my husband for our nasal allergies.
Ask your dr. about nasacort, flonase or something like it.

Amanda, you should look into light/color therapy. they use different color frequency light instead of say acupuncture to cure allergies.

It sounds out there, but it is backed by a MD, and it worked for my cousin. My friend has an appointment for her allergy ridden son on monday.

How awful!!! My brother had to have allergy shots every week when he was little, but eventually he got over that. They never really bothered him. Hope miss Julia is all better today, and you too!
