Scarlentina is also known as 'Fifth's disease'. Rebecca got it from just going to preschool for 3 days. IT was terrible! I sympathize with ya! Hope all is well soon. Dont think about death...we have better doctors now! No worries!

Yes they are all related. It is a form of strep throat.

Yikes! I've never heard of Scarletina! Just out of curiosity, is Scarlet Fever and Strep Throat related in anyway? And yes, I watched every episode of "Little House on the Prairie." I think Mary's blindness WAS caused by Scarlet Fever.

And, yes, if I remember the book correctly (I never really watched the show, but I read all the books), Mary did have Scarlet Fever. Thank God for modern medicine, right?
