Wow. Sounds like great progress on accepting yourself. I'm making progress, finally, at standing up for myself. But I still struggle mightily to actually like myself.

And I am very familiar with both Tommy and The Giving Tree. I bought The Giving Tree (by Shel Silverstein) for my children when they were young. It still moves me.
Tommy, on the other hand, is just weird and disturbed!
