I agree that the PSU game, while great, is not quite top 10 material, however that game did have a signature moment, at least for me. It occurred late in the fourth, UM down 7, 3rd and goal inside the PSU red zone. Heretofore, this would have been when Navarre would have locked onto someone ... locked on ... locked on, and POP! Interception, game over, defeat snatched from the arms of victory.
The play started like any other. Navarre drops back. He locks on to someone in the corner with five or six white jerseys hanging around. Alone in my living room I say, "John, it's not there. It's not there." All of a sudden, without warning, without precedent, John whips his head around, fires, and nails a young Braylon Edwards streaking across the back of the endzone. I was ecstatic, not only because UM scored, but also because I felt like I had just seen Navarre take a huge step forward. Say what you want about that guy -- he was slow, he locked on too much, he had too many blocked -- I never rooted harder for any UM player to succeed and, at the very least, he improved over time more than any other Michigan QB I ever watched.
