by the way, if blogpoll is any indication, don't we play one of the toughest schedules in the nation this year? i didn't want to "take a step back", it just sort of happened and now that i'm looking at it, every team we've played minus the MAC teams is somewhere in there and MSU and PSU were 11 and 8 when we played them?
and despite all that, we are a few injuries and some rivas unmagic away from one loss? ugh, what a typical michigan season. WHY DID I HAVE TO GO META?!?! WHY COULDNT I JUST LOVE THE MOMENT?!?!

Texas Blue: I swear everything about the kid is 100% true. He was like a column sent from God.
All I know is that we're so damn lucky and our coaches are awful. Lloyd's conservatism the series before should've cost us the game. Malone's conservatism when we were up 10-0 was terrible. And, worse, Henne & Malone not going into the endzone until 1 second left was almost disastrous. Were the routes or calls that bad that Henne kept checking down. We should've had 4 shots into the endzone after Hart's run. About the only thing all day that our staff did well was Lloyd's desperate plea for more time. We might have the most talented, poorly coached team in the history of college football. And perhaps, with Malone and Herrmann on the sidelines to call plays, maybe the only team that has both coordinators with no view of how plays develop. To quote Jason Avant, our coaches "suck".

I really could not agree more, z-man. The disparity between UM's talent level and the overall in-game coaching is mind-boggling.
Michigan wins because it has superstars to counteract the inept coaching. Braylon bailed the staff out a ton, Chris Perry did it before, Charles Woodson single-handedly won a national championship. Hart, Breaston, and Manningham will continue to be counted on this year.
Where does Michigan's chaching staff rank amongst the Big Ten? Any thoughts?
z-man... there's a time and a place for all things, and this is a (valid) discussion for later in the week. Please rein in the rhetoric a little bit, too. We're certainly not above critizing the coaching staff around these parts, but let's try to have a sense of humor about things.

I couldn't agree with you more Brian. While watching the game on tv they showed the boys in Blue huddling before the last play. I jumped from my seat pointed to the tv and said to my wife, that is who I trust, throw it to him. I was pointing to Manningham. Manningham knows how to get open. Avant, for all the balls thrown his way seems to always have his defender drapped all over him. And Breaston must not run good routes (or Henne just doesn't throw his way at all) because he never catches touchdowns. So who did I trust to get open...the freshman. He should be given the no. 1 because he deserves it.
