Brian,
What's your estimation when a player has a "gap" between his offers and his rating?
For example, is Matthews a better edge rusher than Lemming and the other Lemmings give him credit for?

Is there some technical difference between verbally committing and orally committing?
Perhaps its related to the kind of activities said recruit partakes in with the local fauna during his official visit.

side note: anyone know anything resulting from that column "The Buzz" that UM is changing DC's?

Ben: it's often hard to tell, since all offers are reported by the kids and some have a tendency to exagerrate. Generally I take it as a good sign, and OSU was definitely recruiting him hard. Miami perhaps not so much.
Sometimes it goes the other way, too, usually for reasons of grades or attitude, but not always: witness our own Greg Mathews, who is now on the Rivals 100 but couldn't get a sniff from Miami despite coming out and stating "I'll commit if I get a Miami offer."
Jim: if you mean the Lynn Henning column, it's been discussed previously here... scroll back a bit.

What bothers me concerning quarterback, there is no passing qb behind Henne?
If this is true, Michigan is in serious trouble./ Great planning by the coaching staff!
Makes you wonder what has happened to this great tradition!

You need to add Jason Kates back as it seems we are on the top of his list right now, with maybe Maryland.

I just found out about Kates. Never heard of 'im before, though I'm not exactly a top-notch recruitnik. Anyways, seems to me he'd be a huge get. If Slocum doesn't qualify we'd be in pretty rough shape in the middle and a four star DT that weighs 320+ is just what we need.
I take it Walton's not transferring now?

What do you mean no "passing QB behind Henne"?
Forcier is a "combo" QB who is better passing than rushing and Cone is a classic Grbac/Collins/Navarre/Frankenstein UM-type passing QB who happened to play at a school that ran a wishbone(?)/option (?) offense.
