Don't forget, according to ESPN, Bass made it on the field to do some passing despite being injured.

How ironic is it that you can compile and analyze detailed football statistics, poll results, etc., publish an insightful blog, and make a kitten box, but can't get your TiVO to work? I figured you to be of the 'pimp-my-TiVO' crowd. Did you TiVO Jon Stewart asking his audience in Columbus if a Buckeye was just a gay acorn?

I love that ESPN article...Michigan had to play even more conservatively than normal.
Man, isn't that the truth. When normal is conservative, and more conservative than normal is never throw the ball more than 4 yards beyond the line of scrimmage, that's Mike DeBord.
How is he 41-5 as an OC again??

If Manningham is currently 100% (or close) and if I were coach, I would play him the next two weeks but have him play BAD -REALLY bad! (Or maybe just have him fake a knee injury during the Indiana game and "have" to get carried off the field.)
We don't really need Manningham for the next two games and since we cannot call in the bomb sniffing dogs on Tressel's own locker room in his own stadium, it would be a fun psychological tactic to try on Tressel.
Of course, I have no idea if Manningham is close to 100% and I am absolutely certain that I am not the coach.
Take that for what it's worth.

I had trouble believing this at first, but I have confirmed it from numerous sources. Some of my friends from home who go to OSU went to the Chili Peppers concert in Columbus last night claim that the band played "Hail to the Victors" in the encore to a chorus of boos. I personally can't imagine anything more euphonous than this, and would love to get a copy of it.

Do you have TiVo or DVR. Comcast's DVR is shit and I finally told them I wouldn't pay for it if it kept "shutting off" while it was recording. I only got half way through the 3rd qtr. against ND before it said that there had been an error. Comcast should be on notice for their shananigans.

A friend of mine claims to have dated Flea when they were both at Northwood Institute in 1980ish, which would probably indicate that Flea is from Michigan as well.
I see at least five opportunities for factual errors in the previous sentence.

I've heard rumors (separate sources) that the Van Halen brothers have ties to the West Michigan area. One source says they are from Muskegon and the quite religious family has disowned them -thus the need for a made up biographical history. Another said Eddie attended Calvin College for a part of a year. The interesting thing is that these two sources had no connections.
But I haven't heard that about Flea. What I have heard is that Kiedis moved out to southern California when his dad tried to make a go at Hollywood. He stayed and eventually met the others in the group out there while dad came back to W. Mich. As I hear it, Kiedis does come back to the area quite a bit.
But that's all off topic.

Uh... I may be stupid, but I live in GR & have comast & want to actually watch the Ball State game (in hopes to get a look at the beautiful face of Leon Hall... what a cutie mc'hunky pants... oh yeah & football). I will be gone all day so I will not be able to listen to it. So does anyone know where I can find it later & DVR it or something. I am just now getting into the year 2006 & learning all this technology stuff. I know, I know, lame, but give this old broad a break! I would appreciate any help.

Saw this and had to re-post:
"Co-host Lee Corso, 71, is a grandfather of six who also is the director of business development for pencil-maker Dixon Ticonderoga. Sharpen your No. 2s on that one."
Lee Corso: pencil-maker extraordinaire? What else don't we know about this man?

Flea in Midland, Michigan? Now, that's a place to FLEE.
I do have an old issue of the Gargoyle from 1989 with a picture of Flea holding up a copy of the Gargoyle, captioned as the Garg's "first celebrity endorsement."
Presumably while they were in town for a gig, but maybe they spent some more time around here too. Who knows?

I finally found a positive I can take from all the predictable and inconsistent offensive performances. Lee Corso finally is talking about us getting smoked by tOSU. If that isn't the best damn news I've heard in a while, I don't know what is. Hopefully he continues to feel that way.
Maybe that is Mike Debord's plan. To have the offense look ugly enough for Lee Corso to pick against us. That's a very sound way to get a great record.

I saw Springsteen in C'bus and had to sit through the E Street Band doing "Hang On Sloopy." I will also have to elevate RHCP to godlike status if they busted out "Hail To The Victors" in C'bus.

Behold: Lee Corso's bio on wikipedia:
"Corso also works a full time job outside of broadcasting from ESPN. He is the director of business development for Dixon Ticonderoga, the company known for its #2 pencils. Corso was hired by the company in 1992, but he holds one particular accomplishment in high regard. In 2001, Corso spearheaded an effort to create a crayon completely out of soybeans."
