I was not the Central Michigan voter this week, by the way, though if my beloved Chippewas manage to beat Western Michigan and clinch the MAC West, they will return.

Wow, two call outs in one week.
Through week 8 or 9 I had been sticking with a fairly strict transitive ranking centered around the USC>Arkansas>Auburn and so forth. Craziness in the SEC and USC getting beat ruined all that. Last week I didn't really have a method, but this week I tried to switch to a resume system. To simplify things I listed the teams I though worthy of consideration and looked at each teams wins against this list (as well as all the losses).
The "TUCs" (to steal from the Pairwise for a moment) were highly subjective so I need to work on that this week.
By my system BC has four good wins (CMU, VT, BYU and Clemson) against two narrow losses (NCST and @Wake Forest). Last week I should have had them higher than I did, but I don't think that their resume is any less impressive than say WVU (only "good" win against Maryland). I agree it needs some tweaking.
Opposite deal for A&M. I love the Aggies, but their best win was either against a Missouri team that is tanking or @OK St. in OT. Words can't do justice to how bad the A&M passing game was against Oklahoma. We'll see against Nebraska this week.

I was this week's CMU shill. Actually, I'm a little curious how, with the pile of mediocrity at the bottom of the poll, you could vote for them one week, then drop them the next after a win.
My reasoning is here:

Though at one point I had Hawaii in their spot, then switched.

Brian,
Funny/embarrassing story for you. This afternoon, a friend and I went to Wendy's in the basement of the Union for some health food. As we're eating, we're also discussing the tOSU game and possibility of Ron English moving to Sparty.
I don't know if we were loud or what, but some guy that I didn't recognize from the football team taps me on the shoulder. He then proceeds to point to one of his friends and asks me, "do you know who this is?"
Well, the friend was obviously embarrassed and turned away, so I didn't get a good luck at him. Puzzled, I answered, "Is that Leon Hall?"
The guy who tapped me on the should gives me a hugely disappointed look and says, "That's Steve Breaston, dawg. Damn."
Chagrined, I went back to eating my JBC.
A huge football fan, avid mgoblog reader, and someone who actually once played pickup basketball with Breaston, I had missed my shot at glory.
Alas, Go Blue!

Brian,
I was wondering if you're still doing breakdowns of the AP voters' ballots, or if you have a link that lets you view the ballots individually? Thanks.

Tony:
I merely don't wish to taunt the football gods with any hubris before The Game on Friday.

If everyone put OSU at 1, shouldn't their standard dev be 0? Suspect.
